Current Playoff Matchups

Heres a look at the current playoff matchups if the season ended today. The way the Bruins have been playing lately, do not be surprised if the Devils catch the Bruins by the end of the season. The Devils also have three games in hand on the Bs.

(1) Boston vs. (8) Carolina
(2) New Jersey vs. (7) NY Rangers
(3) Washington vs. (6) Montreal
(4) Philadephia vs (5) Pittsburgh

Still with a shot: Florida and Buffalo

Bruins record against Carolina: 4-0-0
Bruins record against NY Rangers: 1-1-1
Bruins record against Florida: 3-1-0
Bruins record against Buffalo: 2-2-1

Which team do you want?

Give me anyone but Buffalo. I would take the other three anyday.
Florida and Carolina would be relatively easy series. NY Rangers would all be tight low scoring games but the Bruins would win that as well. Buffalo plays the Bruins hard all the time.

Bring on anyone! Let's get the playoffs started and show everybody we can play hockey when it counts. If we are going to win the cup then we have to beat the rest.
Bruins in 2009 Happy Birthday Montreal!

I want Montreal bad.

But if they play Carolina I got an inside connection to tickets there and frequent flyer miles to use up. Hello first road playoff game experience.

What...no St. Patty's day celebratory posts?

Well, maybe i'll kick it up a notch with a rare drunk post.

I'm not one to float my fantasies on a discussion board, but if I were to write it up, it would go something like this;

First round. Boston vs. the dirty, dirty, dirty, dirty, habs.

The Bruins sweep Montreal. This series defines revenge. You thought the regular season was good (Patrick Roy night is hard to beat), but the Bruins upstage the regular season dominance by outscoring the Habs 29-0, Lucic breaks 6 bones in laraques face, in tribute to the sixth Cup the Bruins know they will win.

Second round. The Bruins beat the rangers in 4 games. Sean avery suffers a ruptured spleen, a broken orbital bone (Lucic), and is jumped by 3 "anonymous" posters from Bruins rumors and news after game 3, ending his career. Pity.

Third round. Bruins sweep the Devils. Tim Thomas posts 4 straight shu!@&$, and then challenges Broduer mid-ice in the most epic goalie scrap EVER. Tim Thomas dislocates Broudeur's jaw, and tells him as he is standing over him whilst Marty is bleeding on the ice "might makes right, and the Bruins rule".

Fourth round. Cam Neely makes his a one game return, scores the Cup winner as the Bruins sweep the dirty, dirty red wings. What, you think the Bruins are going to lose a game during my fuckin fantasy? Fuck you.

Go Bruins.

eh... The kings have forced overtime in what... 5 games so far this month? I think 4-2, with the 4th being an empty netter with 12.7 seconds left... peanut butter jelly time.
