Calgary got Olli Jokinen from the Phoenix Coyotes for centre Matthew Lombardi, forward Brandon Prust and a first-round pick.
Montador is a nice pick up. He has decent numbers and plays tough. Could be a good pick up to play over Hnidy.

Says they went to Tanzania this past year to work with youths. And they also played together in Calgary with Yelle and Kobasew. So at least he comes to the Bruins knowing some of the players.

Good move here. The Bruins have forward prospects galore...Matador plays with heart and is a tough customer.
Wouldnt be surprised if the B's move a d-man or Manny for a forward at this point.
Boston has some nice defense prospects too. Adding Montador makes Hnidy, Stuart and Lashoff expendable. With Hunwick and Boychuk both close.... why not a big forward for one of those three?

Recchi had 5 assists the other night!! This is awesome! Not a huge player.... obviously not Pronger or Kaberle... but I like it better. Can't be for more then a mid level prospect or a later round pick!
Hey, he may be old, but the guy has experience, and is an upgrade over Nokie.
Maybe he plays on the 4th line,...this deal can only help our PP.
What I hope, is that this doesnt mean Kessel is gone, and maybe a deal for Kobasew in the works.
I like Chuck, but right now he may be better than Recchi, so lets hope this was another depth signing.
If there is a big impact player to be landed, I dont think Recchi was that answer.

It was Karsums and Lashoff.
Lashoff who was at a standstill developmentally, and Karums role has been over taken by Lehtonen in Providence.
We also get a second rounder.
Yes and between the three players we moved, Jefe, only Nokie was signed for next season. Each one brought a 850,000 cap hit. So we just saved over 2.5 million. With Hnidy, Axelsson and Fernandez coming off the books, that just paved the way to keep Kessel, Krejci and Thomas!

To be honest... it is amazing! Even the ones we questioned... Boyes for Wideman... have panned out well. After the Thornton trade by O'Connell, PC had no where to go but UP! Although I would never have thought it would be this quickly!

Now if you doubled Hendricks totals to equal the games, he is still off by 15 points. And the best part, Hendricks is a center and Boychuk is a defenseman. Sounds like we may have a nice puck moving d-man coming up in the system.
Only one that floundered was Bochenski. I thought he was going to do so much more.
I think every team that had Bo thought he was going to be better. Thats a big WTF.
