Bergeron for Pronger?

This thing won't die, the most recent rumor out there is that Patrice Bergeron would be the center piece in a deal for Pronger along with a pick and prospect.

I'm going to say, I am in favor of this potential deal.  Pronger has 1 more year at 6.25 million and Bergeron has 2 more years at 4.75 million dollars.  I LOVE Bergy, and he is just regaining his form, having said that, I think Bergeron is obviously our number 3 center with the emergence of David Krejci.  Many people think Bergeron will be traded just to re-sign Kessel and Krejci, so why not make the move for a top 5 defenseman in the league?

Now, I'm not saying deal Bergeron, Stuart, Colborne and a 1st.  No way in hell.  But Bergeron, Nokie/Sobotka, and a 1st for Pronger and Moen, then I would do it.

I'm torn, but in the long run, defense is more important than offense.  Of course if you trade Bergeron you definitely need to pick up a Cole/Tkachuk type player as the offense would be very week.  Maybe Satan off waivers?

Go for it! I believe this would be the best move.I never agreed with the Kessel move however Bergeron would seem a fair deal.I also love Bergie and have met him several times and he's a great guy. However we can let him go for a top notch defensemen like Pronger.Imagine that...2 twin towers on Defense?? WOW!!

Feels like 2 regulars (Bergeron, Stuart) seems to much to give even if we get Pronger, one of them and i would take that to. But i would like to see something done to the third line so that line produces like they did early in the season, to me, that is the most important thing to "fix" tomorrow.

Pretty sure Pronger has more then one year on the contract.

We don't need Pronger but i do like Morris and either a Cole or a Tkachuk.

NO WAY, Bergeron is a huge part of this team's chemistry and a great leader for this Bruins team. If PC trades Bergeron, consider our cup chances gone.

That trade could go down on draft day, but not on deadline day. I don't think you can pull Bergy out of this lineup in the middle of the season and not mess up chemistry. I hope they pick up Leopold and Antropov.

Bergy has 26 points this year.Yes he was injured but guys! as bad as it sounds he'll never be the same after that hit.one more good hit on him and we can lose him for good. Then what? we lose a chance in getting a guy like pronger who has another year on his contract? Pronger is not the answer to our prayers however it sure won't hurt having his presence on the D.He probably won't play along side Chara on 5 on 5 as they bpth shoot form the same side.I also agree a guy like Cole can help us out as well for some extra grinding.

Another pissy play by Savard allowing Philly to tie the game. Too many head-up-the-ass plays by him lately. Kind of makes you wonder what we may possibly get for him. Personally, I think he is way over-rated.

Another pussy-played game by a pussy-laden team. The Bruins may have big bodies, but they play much too soft & passive. No drive, no energy, no attitude but plenty of fuck-all. The Flyers simply wore the Bruins down and the Bruins willingly obliged. A soon-to-be 2nd or 3rd place team primed for a 1st round exit. I now know why Julien was fired by the Devils with 3 games to go. He can't or does not know how to save a sinking ship.

i agree with charliehodge, we play to soft. im sorry but if bitz wants to stay, he should find a way to bring energy to the team. i know everyone is high on him, but i think we forget that he is a fourth line player on this team, and needs to find a way to bring energy to the team. its not good when chara has to address the hartnell shit, chara should not be the one who has to do this. we need to be tougher to play against.
as for claude, i was thinking the same thing during the game. he got fired because his unwillingness to change, well for a while now he has had bergy on the point on the powerplay, it looks god awful, even though he scored tonight, but he wont change it up. we should not fire claude, but with this talent we should be able to switch things up and be succesful
