Who wants sloppy seconds??

Look who's back. I bet Andrew Ference would like seconds with Sean Avery. I wonder what kind of dirt bag tricks Avery has up his sleeves tomorrow. The Bruins will take on a Ranger team that has dropped to 8th in the East. All of their trade deadline acquisitions, Antropov, Morris, and Avery will be in the lineup. This should be a fun one.

As the old saying goes, "desparate times call for desparate measures". The NYR have now fallen to 8th place and will be playing deaparately today. I think the Bruins would be wise to not enagage the Avery antics, much the same way they did in MTL when Laraque sought out Lucic. A smart game by the Bruins today with a strong forecheck and clean breakouts should do the trick. It would also be wise to get up on these guys and not fall behind. Crowding Lundqvist like Recchi did yesterday with Huet would be wise.

#1 vs #8. The Bruins need to treat this as a playoff game and set the tone right from the start. We need to dictate the game and to discourage them right away. Goaltending is a big part of the NYR and the Bruins must screen Lundqvist to the nth degree.

powerplay chances will make the difference today imo.

Completely unacceptable goaltending by Manny. An elephant on wheels would do a better job. I cannot remember the last good game he played. Its now Tukka time in my books - sit Manny down. Maybe we'll get lucky & get a bag of pucks for him in the off-season.

through 2 periods the bruins look brutal again. something is seriously wrong.

Absolutely brutal goaltending by Manny. The Bruins play their hearts out in the 3rd and get let down big time by Manny. GET HIM OUTTA HERE. USELESS FUCK!!!

Seriously,

Someone here remind me why they think Manny is worth the dog shit that lays on my lawn.

You know what I say?

Manny Fernandez, is PURDY GEUD.

How can the Bruins play with confidence with ass goaltending like that.

I want to hear one arguement, why Manny is better than our league leading MVP; Tim Thomas.

Tell me.

If I were Julien, I would not play him any more this year. As far as I'm concerned, he is no longer a Bruin. It's Tukka time as a backup to timmy.

Hopefully, we all agree on that.

I say, we call up Regan to back up the rest of the year. Let Rask do his duties in Providence, and NO WAY will Regan be as shitty as Manny. Let Regan play maybe 3 games in the last 16, against weeker clubs.

Manny, YOU SUCK.

FUCK MANNY

It appears that the Bruins are finally coming out of their funk. They played like warriors today, Manny excluded. Manny continues to be outright oblivious to what is going on around him. Julien has sat down players to send a message with the most recent being Wheeler. The same has to happen to Manny - only he sits in stands as a spectator or as a backup in Providence. Although the players will deny it, they must, in their hearts, believe that without Manny they could have won today. Even with Manny, they could have won IF Manny could have at least made a save of one of the goals. It's difficult to win in the NHL at the best of times - it's impossible with shitty goaltending like that.

The only good thing that we can take from todays game is that we played better. Let's hope the Manny-less bruins continue to play that way. Their next 3 games are against Columbus, Ottawa & NYI. Playing the way they did today, sans Manny, we should win all 3.

bring up tukka now, send manny down, the guy is terrible. it is not december anymore, we can not ride this manny funk out and see if he gets better. we need wins, we played better today but lost because of manny. it is just as valuable for tukka to play in the nhl and split games for the rest of the year than to play out in providence. i dont care about the calder cup games, i want the stanley cup. he wil gain a valuable experience up here splitting games for the rest of the year, and then being the backup in the playoffs.

as a fan i feel cheated having to watch that manny bullshit, he is a confidence killer, and from what i hear he is a dick in the locker room, ITS FUCKEN TUKKA TIME!!!!

What a joke !! That game was 3-1 B's if it wasn't for that funnel !!

Bring back Andy Moog, Jim Carey, anyone but Fernandez. I will send the money for the plane ticket for Tukka. The entire team plays different with that idiot in the pipes !!

i agree manny was brutal, i made the trip to NYC and even the fans there were admitting the bruins outplayed the rangers by a large margin, esp in the third, lucic played a GREAT game and sees to be back on track. the bruins r playing more physical again and i truly believe this is what was missing. great job by sean today taking care of orr and showing class and even krejci mixed it up a little. more grit, more wins

I have to say, Manny was the only roster player that would not have mattered if he moved. Even for a pick.
He played like crap yesterday. And it has been the same BS in his last 4 or 5 games. I loved the hard hitting. Especially when Dubinsky was leveled at the line in the third. The rest of the team played their hearts out. Manny was the Ted Williams Tunnel.... a semi-truck could have cruised past him. To be honest, I can't believe the score wasn't 7-3 Rangers. I understand Thomas just played on Saturday, but man... he would have won that for us.
I agree, send Manny down. Make a waiver deal for him. Have him hand out water at practice. Anything but be in net again. Bring up Regan. Leave Tukka in Providence to finish what he started and then bring him up to compete with Thomas next year.

the only way i want manny gone is if we bring up tukka, as much as manny has played like shit, i trust him more than Regan if something happens to thomas.
the thing im worried about is that we cant play thomas straight through for the rest of the regular season, we cant have him tired for the playoffs, but playing manny is like forfeiting a game. i wish chia could have shipped manny out, and brought somebody in like auld to back thomas up.

i'm sure chia had the following talk with manny after sunday's game:

chia: "hey manny, you gotta stop playing like shit"

MF: "yeah, i'm trying but it's hard when you already know with 100% certainty that i won't be back as a bruin next year"

chia: "true, but you will be a free agent. unless you want to be playing with emery in some shitty russian b-league, you'd better turn things around"

MF: "fuuuuuuuuuuck, the b's almost signed him, too."

chia: "exactly, but we unplugged the fax machine. hey, it worked when we almost traded for jonas hoglund. f-that!"

mf: "ok, i'll lay-off the crack and start stopping some pucks. i hate those russian hookers..."

chia: "good. hey, while you're at it...get wheeler, krejci and ference off the schneid too."

mf: "i'll see what i can do"

My god are people insane...

Can someone please please please tell me they didn't expect them to slump at some point in the season? Even SJ is looking vulnerable right now and I can garun-f'in-tee you that every team in the Western Conference is hoping they don't finish 8th.

The Bruins are a deep team that are just tired. It's tough having all that success in the first half, then having to deal with a target on your back by all these teams who NEED to win.

There's no need to panic, they'll pull it out. There's too much talent on this roster to imagine they can't compete.

Do you really think NYR have what it takes to topple the B's in a series? Didn't think so.

I disagree MC....The Bruins played great, especially for the sedcond game in 24hrs. They aren't slumping...they won that game if not for Mr. Fernandez !

I remember Thomas being in the net for routs like 10-2 against Toronto and 8-2 against Washington. Be aware, Manny bashers; you might cry out loud if Floppy let you down in the first round.

floppy, your a fucken retard, thomas has been one of the best goalies in the league this year, manny has been terrible lately, bringing up those old scores like you did does not prove anything.
your that guy who thinks just because thomas has a different style than other goalies, he is not as good. all i know is he stops the puck, and manny does not.
