We seem to be getting players with heart.
I like this move a lot! This was a player I mentioned earlier in the week! I'm glad to see him coming here! I think he will add some much needed veteran leadership to a very youthful group of forwards.
I agree 100% Vince.... I'm like the grit and heart they are bringing in! Maybe one more? I'd be happy with this, to be honest.

wow we got a 2010 2nd rounder too, but we gave up lashoff and karsums. i like the move, 2nd rounders are valuable i think.

Tampa is playing so poorly this year, that second rounder is like a late first rounder. I still like the move. Karsums was just bouncing back and forth and Lashoff was under the radar. I think Boychuk is a better prospect then Lashoff too.
All around... I like the deal.
Both Karsums and Lashoff are RFAs at the end of the year as well. This gives PC some breathing room there as well.
Tampa is third from the bottom in the league. We just got a big chunk of heart from them. If the season ended today, we would have the third pick in the second round, of what many are saying is going to be a deep draft!

yea sorry i meant a second rounder, i would still really like to see the bruins get a guy like laperriere, i think he would be great on the fourth line with thornton and yelle. but i really like the moves chia has made so far. he is keeping the core together.(knock on wood)
The Guerin deal is for a 3rd to a 5th depending on how the Pens do. If they miss the playoffs it is a 5th. If they make the playoffs it is a 4th. If they win a round in the playoffs it will be a 3rd. Sounds to me like the Islanders got screwed! But you know Guerin is happy.
I'm waiting for the time bomb in Toronto, too! I think Philly and NJ have cap issues, but I heard that Philly was doing it's best to bring in Jay Bo! Washington could move Nylander since he has been a healthy scratch quite a bit lately.
Just a wait and see game. Roughly 30 minutes to go!

flyers are the biggest goon squad in the league. carcillo is a huge goon, but it make sense that the flyers would want a guy like that. i still hope the bruins would add some toughness up front, i just dont think bitz adds it.

As for Carcillo... he was in the Great One's dog house for taking stupid penalties. I still think Philly gave up too much!

There are still chances that something squeaks in at the final bell. But even if it doesn't... we added some much needed grit and some veteran leadership. Ryder mentioned today that they are not playing as tough as they were earlier in the season (Ya Think??!!) and that they need to turn it around and play with more mental and physical toughness!
Regardless. Recchi will help... even at 41. He had 5 assists the other night against the Kings. PC moved three players, two who were RFAs at the end of the season. But by moving them, he gave himself some room to re-sign Thomas, Kessel and Krejci, and possibly bring in another character guy.
