Kessel and Krejci to play tonight

Both David Krejci and Phil Kessel will play tonight despite missing yesterday's practice with undisclosed injuries. Kessel took a big hit from Columbus defenseman Jan Hejda and appeared to injure his shoulder. Krejci, who has been slumping lately, is believed to be battling from some type of injury.

I would like to see some heart out their tonight !!!! I would also like to say if there hurt then sit them the playoffs is what matters its not like there racking up the points so lets get them healthy. The last thing I would like to say is whats wrong with shaking up the lines I would be getting bored if I had the same linemates all year too.

It's time for a good ol' fashion pounding by the B's tonight ! I think the Sens are just what the Dr. ordered ! The B's deserved to win the NYR game ( Not going to dwell on why they didn't...manny !) and played O.K. against the Jackets !!

Time to start a new roll....we need first !

I hope they shake the cobwebs. Look in the rear-view mirror.... teams are catching up! Maybe some teams breathing down their neck will instill some fire!
I would not mind seeing some guys get a breather down the stretch too. Bring up some youngsters to get a "look at", as well as rest the core veterans a bit.
The one thing that worries me.... is the "playoff gear"! I remember the Bruins teams in the early 90's always played like crazy in the regular season, but never had anything left in the tank to shift to the next level... the playoff level! I hope it is different this year.

4 LINES JULIEN! Maybe it's just me, but I don't think that Julien is playing the 4th line enough. Let Thornton and Yelle go bang around and throw the opposition off their game.

Tonight is a must win in my opinion. They're starting to look weak, and even though I don't believe it, other teams are watching the Bruins and thinking "these guys aren't so tough." We could use a startling win this evening to assert our position as the best in the East.

Don't know about everyone else, but I don't want the B's to win the Presidents Cup. How often does the winner actually go on to win the Big Prize? Not very often. I would be happy finishing second or third.

Just take it slow right now and get everything back on track.

Its not about winning Presidents Cup, Most points means Home Ice for all playoff rounds. Thats what the Bruins need First 2 games at home and the Stanley Cup is ours.
Go Bruins Go! Slump is over and 14 game winning streak has started!

I am pleased with the result of tonight's game...

And Mook, I will be the first to admit I am a bandwagon jumper, albeit not a very good one. I remember cheering for the Habs when I was 11 years old because my friends were fans. I started to cheer for the B's however when they beat the habs in Montreal in game 5 of the 1988 Adams division final and realised then that the B's were clearly the better team. Shortly after that I discovered Habs fans suck the big one anyway. So yes, I am a bandwagon jumper. I jumped on that bandwagon pretty hard and have yet to get back off it.

Go B's!

Damnit Mat...when the Bruins beat the dirty habs, I will never forget the feeling in my home after my father taught me since I was a spankling to hate those dirty habs. I guess I shouldnt take my pops for granted, but man, what the hell kind of festive freinds were you hanging out with ? (cmon, that was funny, admit it)

I've posted it before, for all to read carefully and consider.

"It takes neither courage nor intelligence to cheer for a team only when that team wins. The true test of a fan's mettle is the same as it is for a player: Were you there when you were needed?" -Ian Wilson

Bruins for the Cup.

I liked the urgency that certain players seemed to have last night. Savard seemed to have an extra burst in his step, and PJ looked like he was playing for his spot (oh wait, he probably was). Give this team credit, it almost looked for a minute like Ottawa was going to embarass them and tie the game, but they hunkered down and got it done.

There not going to all be pretty wins, and the playoffs are going to be tough, but this team can play with finesse and with grit, which is key when it comes to a long series.

I think the B's are going to finish the season strong. This month looks like they could end up breaking even with games against the Isles, Kings, Leafs and Lightning, but I think it's the games against the Dev's and the Flyers that will be instrumental in the momentum going into the playoffs, I say they win both in physical squeakers.

mook what is your obsession with bandwagon fans? you keep on making fun of them, like you are better than they are. i am not a bandwagon fan, but bandwagon fans are exactly what the bruins need. i remember people crying the last two years because the garden was never filled up for the bruins games, now it is and you feel like you have to make fun of the bandwagon fans.
every team has bandwagon fans, and every team has die hards. they need both. good for you that you've stuck with the bruins when they sucked, but the bruins need bandwagon fans.
aren't you from canada anyways?

Glad you enjoyed my humor, and I'm glad to have you as a Bruins fan Mat. That run in 88' was so sweet, and I think it created many Bruins fans.

On mook calling out bandwagoneers; he is just making a case point. There has been a very loyal fanbase for the Bruins that has died hard even in difficult times, and Boston is a sports town which makes it ripe for fairweather fans.

The Bruins were horrible up until Orr's teams overtook the Celtics popularity expanding the Bruins fanbase greatly. I beleive with a new GM culturing success, the loyal fanbase will expand once more.

I admit, that every now and again I let my emotions get the better of me and i have harshed down on those who dont deserve it. It sometimes takes a winner to create new fans and bring the old ones back, but the fans who watched all those hard years, watching Ray and Cam not get to lift the cup here, are now feeling those pings of excitement again. The feeling that our proud team that stands for overachievement, passion and pride has a chance at its just deserve, along with its fans deserving it as well.

That is what the team was built on, through all those tough years when the Candadian Territoroal rights Bargain gauranteed the Bruins got to pick from the Leafs and Habs leftovers. The years in which Stanley Cup powerhouses were dismantled, because players were shipped off to Europe to fight during WW2, or were lured away with larger contracts in the 70's.

Things have never come easy for this team. That is what makes the fans so great to me, and the 5 cups the Bruins have won so significant.

Go Bruins.

The Bruins need to be a lot more agressive, both offensively & defensively, this afternoon against the Isles. I have seen NYI play a lot lately and they have impressed me with their work ethic. They are playing their their younger players who are trying to earn a spot for next year. If the Bruins persist in not playing a 60 minute game, it could spell the beginning of a long & miserable weekend with the pens on the sked tomorrow. Even more so when you consider that Manny is in all liklihood likely to play one of the weekend games. I believe an in-your-face, beligerent and agressive style will work wonders today. GO BRUINS!!!

11:03 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

I agree with Habhater. At 6-2-2 in their last 10 games, only Pittsburgh has lost fewer in that stretch. Just because the Bruins are 50+ points better does not mean that the Isles will roll over. On the contrary, unless the Bruins play to their potential, the scrappy Isles will win today.

I think that you can see the team starting back up like an engine that struggled to turn over. It was dead for a while during that slump, but slowly the spark plug guys are starting to make a difference. As much as I like roleplayers like Thornton and Yelle, the Savards and Kessels and Charas need to step it up, and they've been slowly coming to life.

I like the way Savard has been skating recently. Kessel too. I feel they're getting it back together just in time.

What did happen to Matt? It seems he got a hard time for some of his blogs, but a passionate Bruins fan, never the less. Pekese, you have done a fine job.

It does seem like the Bruins are coming around. Slowly but surely, they are getting back to playing the kind of hockey that got them in first.

If they can beat the Devils next sunday they should be able to hold on to the conference lead. Even if they slip to 2nd or 3rd which i doubt will happen given Washingtons play of late, they match up well with any of the potential 6, 7 or 8th seeds, and with home ice I like our chances.

You know what i want? Bruins vs. the dirty habs in the first round. There is no better way to excercise your demons, than killing them yourself.

Respects to all my fellow fans here and....Go Bruins!

Wakey Wakey all you retarded Bruin fans. Time to get up & face the reality - your team is on a downward spiral.
It's a great day here in pentown where the Pens will lay a beating on you this afternoon. I've been waiting for this since January 1 when you scraped out a 4-2 win when we were an injured team. Now the tables are turned & its time for revenge - a good old-fashioned beating of 6-2 will do quite nicely. Crosby 2, Malkin 2, Kennedy 1, Letang 1.
Look at it this way - by us whipping your ass today, we are doing you a favor - it drives the Canadiens further down. Who knows, you may play them in the 1st round if they make it and you'll thank us for that.
GO PENS!!!

want to know why canadians aren't only--by default--fans of their own city's teams? it doesn't matter what city we cheer for, the players are mostly ours anyways ;)

bandwagoners make me sick. don't like it when the bruins are losing? fuck you...go watch baseball. you're lucky to live in a city where you can go watch a game any night (since you never sell-out). i could only wish for something like that...look how shit the leafs are and they continually sell-out. their fans are idiots and plan a parade every year. 1-game winning streaks and they're calling gerber for the vezina. want to know why? cause as retarded as they are, they aren't bandwagoners.

fallse (aka o'homo): go fuck yourself.
