Keys to Game 4

The last two games could possibly be the worst the Bruins have played all season. This team looked like the team we saw go on a terrible skid after the lose to the San Jose Sharks back in February. Here are some of my keys to game 4

Play 60 minutes of hockey.
In game two the Bruins completely outplayed the Canes in the third period. The problem was that they got beat in the first two periods. The Bruins need to play a complete game of hockey without taking periods off.

Get the powerplay going.
The powerplay has been so predictable that the Bruins can't even set up in the offensive zone. Changing up the personal or atleast changing the approach is a must. The Bruins continue to rely heavily on the first unit to create offense. Therefore, putting Krejci or Kessel out with that unit may should be considered. If the Bruins continue to want to roll both units, the second unit should get more time.

Get a clean breakout.
The most important aspect of creating offense, the breakout. The Bruins were the best 5 on 5 team during the regular season. Why? Because of the transition game. The problem here is without Hunwick the Bruins lack secondary puck movers on the blueline after Wideman. Hunwick's absence really hurts this team especially against a fast group of forwards that the Canes have.

Traffic in front.
The Bruins simply need to get more bodies in front of Cam Ward. All of the goals that have been scored have occurred because traffic in front. The Bruins have plenty of big bodies, but they lack the willingness to get to the net. Lucic and Wheeler must live at the top of the crease like Recchi does. Ward is so good right now thats the only shot they have at beating him.

Sugarcane (I hope you are a woman with a name like that), the Bruins handed your team those 2 wins.

They do need to want it more, and the canes did more than the B's those last 2 games.

However, the Bruins are the better team, regardless of their shitty lack of heart play the last 2 games. You barely won the last one, and the Bruins have needed to realize that they need to work to win. Thanks to the canes, they should have realized that by today, and I expect another playoff win streak, Bruins in 6.

Habman, are you speaking to us? You dipshit, your team sucks, their a bunch of criminals, and you just got done watching the Bruins dismantle your team by virtue of scaring players away, and ending careers as habs.

I dont think their could have been a more embarrasing season for your 100th. The habs truly suck, and the fans deserve nothing better than watching the Bruins destroy them physically, on the scoreboard, behind the bench, and upstairs.

Habman the Bruins IMO have done this to you in this order.

1. We beat you 5 straight games, winning on Patrick Roy night and your silly jersey day.

2. Lucic broke Komisarek's face and took him out for over a month by virtue of beating the living shit out of him. Lets not forget the one hit fight in the playoffs. Komisarek is truly Lucic's bitch.

3. Contributed greatly to the firing of your coach.

4. Swept you in the playoffs.

5. Had your fans booing your team and your prized crappy goalie, who will be playing for Dallas in 2 seasons.

5. Sent 3 players to surgery after the playoffs,

6. Contributed to the future firing of Gainey. You heard it from me. Gainey is done.

HA HA HA!!!!!

C-Ya!!!

Ward is a better goaltender then me. He already won a cup and was challenged a lot against NJ. I wasn't tested against the weak Habs and i can't wait to cost a game or two to my team with the usual softy i allow for times to times. I can't believe Chiarelli gave that 20 millions contract since i can't steal a game or two and bring the Bruins to the promise land. Too bad that Krecji and Kessel will have to leave because of my contract. Well, i'm gonna build a shed for the K's as a departure gift...

Floppy, are you posting the same stupid thing you already posted?

I guess you dont know shit about shit, do you? Kessel and Krejci arent going anywhere.

The only thing good to ever come out of the south was "The Dukes of Hazzard".

So shave that goiter off the side of your neck, spit that shit out of your mouth, take a bath and realize your failed to make your own country. We came down from the North, and rolled over Carolina and the rest of the south. Just like the Bruins will do tomorrow.

ps sit the eff down montador...give shane the nod.

and for all you gayaniac's out their with rock hard on for your lame ass hockey team, get over yourselfs. you guys have been a hockey team for like 15 fucking minutes. the bruins have been around since day 1. you guys are the definition of bandwagon, and you have no argument telling me otherwise...you guys are ALMOST as retarded as habs fans. i guess you both have exuses...their all gay french canadians morons, and your all retarded inbred rednecks, but whatever im not here to judge....but i will anyway, you all suck at life

im going to watch deadliest catch while laughing at how stupid canes/habs fans are.

Well more then likely Ference is out so, Hnidy and Montador are both in.

Change the lines up a bit....Wings did it tonight and they lit Anaheim up.

Wheeler-Savy-Kessel
Lucic-Krejci-Ryder
Recchi-Bergy-Kobasew
Ax/Bitz-Yelle-Thornton

Maybe this will get Wheeler going and reunite that first rd. line of Luc-Krejci-Ryder.

Stop playing the line match game - roll the 4 lines like we did all year - we are the better team. We are playing into thier game. Our 4th line is better than thier first so just play our game.

Barely... IF Gainey is fired, it will be link to his decision to fire Carbonneau and his failure to get a better result. However, there's speculations that the decision to fire the coach came from the top...

9:03 AM

exactly. matching lines is stupid and throws the entire team off their game. they havent done it all year so why start now? its a joke that julien is letting staal get to him so much. let them play hockey gdam.

9:14 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

i disagree.

every time staal was on the ice without chara he scored or did serious damage.

am i the only fan of shane hnidy? he can handle staal...hnidy is rough-and-tumble and rarely takes penalties. the refs must love this guy because he does some borderline stuff...

I agree, Ferrence just hasnt been the player he can be since this series started.

Hnidy has been taking care of business, and lets not forget he scored a big one against the dirty habs. We sure could use another goal from a defensemen.

Bruins will win tonight, and lets not forget, all the Bruins needed to do in games 3 and 4 was split it, and bring home ice advantage back to Boston.

exactly jefe, we win tonight we are back in control.

hnidy back in the lineup will help, he is physical, and ference obviously isn't healthy because he is playing like shit.

i still kind of want boychuk up here, with hunwick and ference out we are missing a guy who can handle the puck and move it up, which is why our breakout has looked like shit lately. plus he is a big kid too.

Sugarcane is right. No drive, no heart, glass jaws. I've been a Bruins fan my entire 40 years, but I just can't keep getting sucked in. This is playoff hockey guys. It sounds obvious, but apparently you need to be reminded. You look like a high school team the last 3 games. Do me a favor? Put me out of my effing misery and lose game 5, ok? Make your tee times and fuck off.

I remain a diehard but this is going to require a Red Sox like miracle !

no heart, no desire, no passion, no fight, no will to win, no grit, no urgency.

how mentally weak are these bruins, they lose one game in the playoffs and totally disappear for the next two. this team is not a playoff team.

for the love of god, bring up boychuk, if we cant get the puck out of the zone, we are not going to score, the hunwick lose was huge, and we need to try to replace him. hnidy is not a puck moving d-man, boychuk is.

i cant watch this bull shit anymore, i feel like somebody stabbed me, sugarcane is right, they just want it more.

O.K. now that the next morning has come I have relaxed....a bit. First of all, Shut-Up Hab Man...we would pound you anyway even if all your "stars" were playing....not worried about that.

Let's face it...bad timing now that the Canes' are the best team in the play-offs right now ! But they got there by Stall and Ward playing awesome ! The Bruins top guys have just gone missing.

So how do we turn this around in my opinion. Screw being worried about who's on the ice. Stall scores right now no matter who's out there ! So, home ice get everyone involved and play with some HEART. If we had 12 forwards with the heart of Bitz we would be laughing. That's all the Canes' are doing ! After Stall and Whitney they just have guys willing to give anything....and oh yeah Jussi Jokinen with a horseshoe up his ass !

I say B's win at home.....and then who knows !?!?

coming back from being down 3 games to 1? ive seen crazier things happen. i got to say this goal post is KILLING us. im getting real sick of that noise.

i dont know if its just me or if anyone else can see it, but our breakout is just depressing. i couldnt decide if it was our guys up front that were bad or just the canes D that was so good.

bruins keep going back to this thing called " simplifying their game" their simply not scoring, and timmy is letting by TRASH.

we gots this. the turn around of all turn arounds starts tomorrow.

and rememeber. WE ARE NOT HABS FANS. no matter what, the bruins had an amazing season and as pissed as i cam about the so far outcome of this series, im still proud of what they did. " speaking like a true loser" bull shit. speaking like a true fan

BostonBruins.com notes that the team's slogan is We Want It. The trouble is so does everyone else.
Therefore the question begs, "What are you willing to do to get it?"

From what I have seen in this year's playoffs the Bruins are willing to do as little as they can. Sure they ousted the Habs in 4 straight, but they were a banged up bunch and even if they weren't, the Bruins would have handled them easily anyways.

The Bruins are not willing to pay the price to get to the next level the way the Canes are willingly lining up to pay. Running around as if they are lost and not knowing what each other is doing. They got their lunch handed to them last night in the 3rd period. With the score tied & 20 minutes to go you would at least think that the Bruins would put forth an effort worthy of respect.

The Canes have exposed the Bruins. This calls into question the team's character & integrity.

Why has the physical play been geared down since round 1 when it should have been ratcheted up a knotch or two? Lucic's, Thornton's & Wheeler's physicality has gone AWOL in round 2. Thank God for Bitz in last night's game or our physical effort would be a no-hitter.

This series is a complete about face from round 1 due to the Bruin's 'deer in the headlights' look of desparation when they get into even the slightest evidence of advertisity. Handling adversity in the playoffs is the way that champions are made.

The Bruins are making themselves out to be chumps. It is one thing to lose if the effort, desire, grit & intensity is given by one & all. It is completely unacceptable to fans & the Bruin's organization to go away quitely and not put forth the effort.

To say that I am pissed is to put it mildly. I am shocked & outraged by their unwillingness to compete. Compete you bastards compete.

We the fans do not play the game but we cheer and urge you on each & every shift & play. We give the supreme effort every game. At least return the favor.

I for one am ecstatic when we win and a little piece of me dies every game we lose. I am dying quickly now.

Sunday we will find out what the Bruin's character & mettle is made of. It seems to me that either way, PC has a lot of soul searching to do with respect to the playoff effort.

Hells bells.

If I see nothing less on Sunday, it will be a goddamn crying shame.

I don't think I need to elaborate on some of the comments above, because for the most part they are correct.

However, if there is one team I believe could win the next 3 playoff games, it would be this one. Give us one win this sunday, and I think they can do it.

Another great period except for the last 20 seconds. I can only hope that Zee is not seriously injured, aka, an ankle injury.

In any event, payback must be sought and the price paid - No Jokinen around. A message needs to be sent & tonight is the night to send it. The Bruins however must pick the right time & opportunity.

If the B's are ever looking for a rallying point, that gutless slash may just do the job.

Wow !! Where was that the last 3 games !

This game can truly be a turning point. Confidence is back, Thomas was awesome, Chara best player on the ice and Lucic is pissed !

The slash to Chara and punch to Ward make a team closer and more determined !

The Canes' had been playing the absolute best they could have and the Bruins had so much left to give. Now a little pressure slides over to the Canes' side ! Plus Ward now looks "human" !

Tues. can't come soon enough !!

when we skate like that nobody can keep up with us. then they try to be physical with us because they cant keep up, and then we really pound them into the ice.

bitz worked great with krejci and ryder, what a game from everyone. these are the real bruins, when we play like that nobody can play with us.

going back to carolina with all the momentum, and to top it off carolina pissed us off at the end of the game by taking cheap shots, not what you want to do to a bigger more powerful bruins team that feeds off that type of play.

LETS GO BRUINS!!!!!

12:16 AM
Anonymous MC Puck said...

I said it before the game that the Bruins needed to send a 60 minute message, and they exceded my expectations. Ward still played well, well enough to prevent a 7 goal game (had Price been in net? maybe 10 goals), but the Bruins absolutely demoralized the Hurricanes.

Watching the frustrations boil over showed me something about this Hurricanes team: They don't have the mental will to go 7 with a stacked team. The Bruins, even when they were losing, kept their composure, and now the momentum is completely on their side.

Walker will get suspended, there's no doubt - so don't worry about Looch going off on him, and someone will give Jussi the hit of his career - but look for the Bruins to play un biased hockey.

The big guys stepped up and the role players played well. Even Montador, despite a hiccup or two, played with heart and passion. I believe in this bruins team.

I dont think we can thank Jokinen and Walker enough! They just sealed the deal, reminding the Bruins, hey, these goalie runninng, slashing bastards are dirtier than the diry habs!

Thank you canes and maurice so much for thinking you already won the series, for throwing the Bruins under the bus, and for waking the giant.

The canes had nothing, NOTHING on the Bruins yesterday, all by virtue of the Bruins playing their game. I said it before, the stupid canes werent doing anything special. They were finishing some hits and getting scoring chances because the Bruins stopped playing. Ward made some good saves, but Timmy (the better goalie of the 2) is back after a 3 game hiatus, along with the rest of the players.

Wheeler back, with 2 goals this tuesday? Wouldnt be surprised, but for now, I say play Bitz.

Bruins are going to fuck those canes up Tuesday.

Boychuck is the next obvious call up, but bringing a minor league defensemen up in the middle of the playoffs is not a good idea. Especially in a pressure situation.

That's why regardless of some of the mediocre hockey Mantador has played, was a very important playoff move.

I know your not a fan of Mantador williss, but last game he did what he needed to do, which was simplify. He will not be any liability, so long as the rest of the D corp do their job as well.

In my opinion, it has been Timmy and Wideman who needed to pick it up the most, and they did. Of course, it was mostly important for Chara to be the best player in the game, and for Lucic to hit everything.

Its a simple recipe for success for these Bruins. No reason to think they wont still win this series.
