Thomas a finalist for Vezina

The NHL has announced that Tim Thomas, Steve Mason, and Niklas Backstrom are the three finalists for the Vezina trophy. The award is voted on by the 30 GMs across the league. Although all are worthy and have put up great numbers, Thomas should be the favorite to win this award. Mason, a rookie goaltender, helped lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to the playoffs for the first time in their franchise history.

Here are their stats:
Tim Thomas - 36-11-7, .933 Save Percentage, 2.10 GAA
Steve Mason - 33-20-7, .916 Save Percentage, 2.29 GAA
Niklas Backstrom - 37-24-8, .923 Save Percentage, 2.33 GAA

Tim Thomas rules, and will win the Vezina. He has had the best numbers combined in 2 straight seasons now.

Carey Price is a joke, and will be backing up in Dallas in 1 1/2 seasons.

Hey habman, whats the matter? Your dumbass predictions you boldly posted here end up in your face? Just like Carey Price and the rest of the habnots?

What a great hab centennial year!

For Bruins fans, that is. Ha ha ha!!!!

Bruins rule, habs suck.

i love how every new post on this site is basically just the last comments that were made on the old post.

jefe or mook will say something, and then pekese will take it, and make it into a new post of his own. very creative.

Thomas for sure !

On a side note....Watching the Ducks -Sharks series makes me say that the Thornton trade wasn't so bad. This guy has to be the most dominate guy in regular season to no-show in the play-offs.....every year !

For the love of God let's get rd. 2 going already !

To Mr. Anonymous poster,

Tim Thomas of the Boston Bruins was announced as a finalist for the Vezina trophy... god forbid that someone happened to write a blog entry about it.

What do you think, he SHOULDN'T post it because someone was already talking about it.

Why do so many dense people come here and post these stupid little comments.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

did anyone watch medium Joe get bounced last night?!?! :)

anyone think anaheim can do the same against detroit? even if they don't win, they'll grind the hell outta them. plus anaheim has 2 solid goalies. if the bruins can make the finals, should be easy.

going back to some previous hab related posts (i'm going to be happy about this sweep all year, so f-off):

"bruins fans shouldn't be too happy, we were an eigth place team! of course you were going to win"

yeah? last year bruins were an eigth place team, and we took you to 7 (i think someone else posted this fact previously)
AND...
look what Anaheim did to San Jose: president trophy winners and odds-on favourite to be in the finals. gonzo. that's what happens when your team is full of pussies and whiners (and old bastards like roenick and lemieux). san jose thought they were giving these guys a last chance to win the cup? ha! not with 1 line and 2 defensemen. you're not detroit.

my balls? suck'em.

"yeah but we had injuries"
injuries? that's a fact of the playoffs. you have to be able to deal with them. nhl playoffs can be almost one-third of the regular season, so you gotta get ready (GMs are listening now). anyone moaning over trading noke for montador now? nope. he certainly came in handy once ference and hunwick got injured. THAT is depth and good management. We didn't have to call-up some pussy named Laterdresse or some goon called Lacock.

Bring-on the Rangers! I'm calling a Ranger win tonight. Lock.

In a way, i wouldn't mind the caps and devils winning their series, so we could spank the pens. Bruins match-up so well with them right now, it would be a walk. As long as they don't start Sabourin (we always had a problem with him...)

fack i'm excited...

Mook - I'm with you there, and am completely excited. I can't wait for the series to start and bring on anybody, we can take them. I'm stoked and ready to go.

Thinking about getting a new B's Jersey... I'm not sure if I should get Chara, Lucic, Bergie or Kessel... any suggestions?

Go get a Ryder Jersey, he's been HUGE in the Playoffs. I had him as my 1st Star of the series

Those 4 are all good choices Mat; I would go with a Lucic, Bergie, Kess and Chara in that order. Of course Savvy and Thomas have been my favorite Bruins the last 3 years so I may find myself in one of those soon.

...that is as soon as I sell this authentic signed Joe T jersey!

Anyone want a Joe T jersey? $300 and its yours!

I didnt think so.

Mook, I couldnt help but watch the whole Sharks Ducks series. Mostly because I played hockey in college in Nor-Cal, and my teammates and the fans in that area TRULY believe they are gods gift to sports and sports knowledge. I have a handfull of freinds who are Sharks fans, and you all wouldn't want to know what kind of shit slinging has gone on the last 10 years of my life with these people. Especially after the Joe T trade, which has been followed up with claims of them robbing the Bruins in the worst slanted trade ever, of course opposed by my voice of logic of what that trade has done for the Bruins.

So, the body of the arguement for 10+ years now with Sharks fans, has been playoff success. I am very quick to point out the first round is the only round they win, and it has been met with serious backlash EVERY SEASON; that in fact this was the Sharks year.

So to say the VERY least, last night was FUCKING HUGE for me.

hahahaha jefe that's awesome man.

best moment of yesterday's game: getzlaf scores to make it 4-1. camera pans to medium joe just in time to see him throwing a hissy-fit on the bench.

he has lost some serious weight since boston...

I have a road Kessel jersey and have a home Chara on the way.

awesome stuff.

Yeah, I took note of that hissy fit myself, and your'e right, Dunkin' Joe has lost a few pounds. Poor guy, he was always really cool to everyone in Boston. I hope Joe T finishes his career somewhere else, he deserves better than San Jose.

Sweet picks da wreck, call me biased, but we got the best jersey in the NHL!!!!
