Lucic suspension unfair

I'm going to try and not be a homer, but I think majority of people who are fans of the game (minus Habs fans) do not think that suspension was justified.

First, Carcillo's suspension I don't agree with other than his reputation and the Flyers team, so the NHL was making a point, fine.

Cammalleri should have been suspended since he did the same exact thing based on Carcillo's suspension, but he was not.

Now Game 1 in Montreal, I don't think Lapierre should have been suspended for attacking Kessel, nothing major happened and it was just some stupid rough stuff at the end of the game.

Kostopolous should have been suspended for clearly going after Hunwick's head.  Although he did not connect, the intent was there.

I also do not think Komisarek should have been suspended UNLESS it was clear if he was eye gouging, which I honestly could not tell.

On the Lucic play, Schneider was spearing and jabbing him, he was engaged with Lucic and then Lapierre skated over and Lucic punched him in the head, which happens.  Nothing major and the stick didn't hit Lapierre or else he would have been injured.  Also to note, this play was much less damaging than when Lucic pulled down Komisarek from behind, which he did not get suspended for.  This is a joke suspension, IMO.

The suspension is a joke if it was a montreal player did the same thing he WILL NOT get any kind of suspension look what happen at the end of game 1

being from canada, i can honestly say that colin campbell has a strong bias towards canadian teams. if it will positively affect the habs, flames or canucks you can bet on a suspension...and you can throw-in the wonder-team too (pens).

This suspension, shows that Colin Campbell is a hipocritical son of a bitch.

Time for Bitz hits, and a big Blake Wheeler goal.

Bruins fans, this could be a blessing in disguise. The Bruins know what Lucic's physical game brings to the table, and with fully capable bruisers throughout the lineup, they will step up in that regard more.

Bruins will win!

Things for habs fans to be frustrated about;

1. They suck

2. Bitz and Hnidy come in, and produce in place of Hunwick and Lucic

3. Schneider and Tanguay out.

4. They suck

5. Our captain has been a captain, Koivu is on his ass, and lets Kobasew walk in and score an empty netter

6. Timmy!!!!!

7. Savard, Bergeron and Krejci prove why depth at center is most key

8. Lucic will be back with a vengeance for game 4

9. Ryder scores a game winner against the stupid habs

10. Et le blue keeps predicting the exact opposite of what actually happens

11. Man, this list could go on and on and on!!!!

I love how the habs fans go on with this injury crap and we are a 8th place team!

The Bruins had players hurt last year and was an 8th place team, but they had heart and forced game 7. How one year makes a difference.
Go Bruins Go.

They're an 8th place team because their team leaders are soft. Kovalev? please.. Koivu? no way. Markov? no. They have some decent hockey players but no direction or leadership, especially with Gainey behind the bench.

The Bruins, despite their depth, have something the Habs don't have. That's team continuity. Every LINE has a leader. You've got Savard who gives up his body diving around for pucks, you've got Bergeron who has returned to form, he's hitting, playing tough in the corners and making things happen, you've got the Riders, Yelles, Thorntons who love nothing more than to lead by example.

The Canadiens have one guy like that, Schnieder, and he's hurt and making zero impact.

This series is over, even if the Habs do take a game (which they won't).

Oh, and stop taking away from the Bruins accomplishments. The Canadiens do not suck, the Bruins are just that good.

schneider is over rated and not a leder in my book. the habs have no leadership. some OK players, some egos, some over rated vets and a starting goalie that doesn't deserve the position based on his play.

two things that bother me about this series.

1. Listening to CBC's commentators druel all over Price's balls the second he makes a routine save. Greg Millen should have his head checked. Is he watching the same game?

2. Why did A good guy like Metropolit do to deserve having to play with this group of jerkoffs. I bet he can't wait for the year to end and look for another team.

4:23 PM
Blogger Jefe77 said...

The Flyers fucked Metro.

I agree. Metro is a good guy, I'm sure he is a good teammate to all the dirty habs, but he most likely hates playing there.

Everyone does. Which is why no big name UFA's will ever sign there.

millen sucks, but bob cole rocks! i may be biased, but cbc is the best broadcast available (yes, including coaches corner).

i bet gainey forces lang to play next game...what does he care if he sustains a major injury or somehow re-injures himself permanently ruining his career? lang's contract with the habs is over...and gainey is a scumbag.

on behalf of all canadians on this site (and everywhere else), i apologize for the booing of the american national anthem. i was really embarrassed about that.

okay now its time for lucic to come back hopefully (very doubtful) axelsson gets put back on the 4th line. krejcis line was best line on the ice last night. axe sucks and missed so many chances once again. i love him on the pk and fourth line but come on we need a finisher on the wing of the bruins best two players. imagine had they had a left wing the scores would been like 5-1. love bitz but someones gotta sit.

Bob Cole is also brutal. He's so far behind in the play by play it's like he's got the Don Cherry 10 second delay...

I do agree with the fact that they give Price way too much credit. He has no idea where the puck is after an initial save and they still try to comment on how amazing his rebound control is. Ask Michael Ryder how his rebound control is.

I miss the NESN broadcasts.

from Niagara Falls, ON. Former home of the Bruins junior farm affiliate back in the day. Lots of long time B's fans in the region.

B's fans from Ontario typically need center ice to get all the games. We usually get NESN's feed and it is wickedly refreshing to finaly get some B's bias as apposed to the Leafs/Habs propaganda. Edwards is amusing but I really like the guys on wbz1030. Beers and Gaucher. From NF, Ont., the station will come in after 6 or 7pm.

Yes I am a sick B's fan and these are good times (so far)!

I like Jack Edwards & Andy Brickley. Jack's last game comment that I seen on the NESN website was priceless -

Et Le Blueballs. Don't you get it? The officiating blew, but there was no preferencial treatment; the Bruins were on the short end a few times too.

And cut the injury crap out, really. No one cares or feels sorry for you. The Bruins were missing their leading goal scorer from last year (Sturm), and two of their best puck moving defensmen in Hunwick and Ference, not to mention were missing Looch on Monday, and a few guys were dinged up coming in.

If you guys had Markov, Lang and Schneider and we had Hunwick, Ference, and Sturm... we'd STILL have smoked you because Carey Price played like garbage.

And another thing. What a bunch of awful fans. You'll wonder why no one resigns next year, and all you have to do is go back to your Tivo of this game and listen to the boos and chants being reigned down on your own team.

Awful fans + awful management = no one wants to play there.

Go BRUINS!!!!

If they meet next round the only guy which is scary is Lunquist or however you spell it. He is a great goalie.

9:36 AM

lang: ankle injury early in the season...noone's fault.

lang, boullion, schneider, tanguay, brisebois were all victims of gainey's plan to try and out-muscle the bruins. the bruins hit them hard, and they crumpled.

different series? i think not. want to know what would have made a difference? montreal should have played their game (speed, etc) and not tried to crash-and-bang with the bruins. no shot. laracque on the top line? yeah, that paid off!!!

habs fans are the worst. booing the anthems? booing your own goalie? chanting "carey, carey" from a home crowd? idiots. you don't deserve a team. as much as i wanted to celebrate and do cartwheels last night, i couldn't help but feel bad for the habs...your fans suck. the bruins apparently felt bad too; playing the 4th and 3rd lines for the 5 minute powerplay in the third.

also, who is this latendresse? does he want to be carcillo all of a sudden? nice try kid...suddenly brave when the series is practically over, and you know the bruins aren't interested in your nonesense.

the goal was not offside, they showed a super-slow motion replay on cbc...not that it would have mattered anyways...if they disallowed that goal bruins would have still won. go cry about something else.

now go enjoy a poutine and look forward the next celine dion habs season. no more excuses, you got trashed.

i feel bad making fun at the habs, like the way someone feels bad about making fun of retards.

"We have the best fans in the league, but the way they reacted. . ." said Laraque. "Carey's only 21. If you're going to point fingers, point them at our injuries.

Does Laracque think he's still on Pittsburgh? Best fans boo their own team off the ice whenever they lose? That happened all season long...not just in the playoffs. You're all dillusional.

10:18 AM
Anonymous Et Le But said...

And the Bruins fans are the most dedicated in the world? Not too long ago Bruins fans were making excuses for their team, and how many people defected from the Bruins after the lock out? Habs fans are forever. We boo because we're passionate, and we will always stick with our team, even after we trade Joe Thornton I mean Patrick Roy.

Either way, your B's don't stand a chance in the next round. Do you think that they're going to be able to get any of those easy goals past Lundqvist? Good luck to you and with that I bid adieu.

Vive les Habitants.

Feel bad for the Habs - never - they are and always be shit in my eyes. Only differance is now thier own fans can see it also. The only guy I felt bad for is Metro - he does not belong with sissyass low life dirbags. You could tell he was happy this season is over - i bet his bags where already packed and at the airport before the final buzzer.

11:11 AM
Anonymous MC Puck said...

hahaha the canadiens were garbage after the all star break. They are now 0-7 in their last 7 games, and couldn't muster more than 6 goals against a team with two defensmen out with injury.

Deal with it the way the rest of the league does, with humility. And for the record, Bruins fans don't go anywhere. There's Boston sports fans who don't follow hockey but jump on the bandwagen, but folks like myself, who've watched, followed, and cheered for the Bruins through every Craig Billington ARE the best fans in the world.

That being said, the Bruins crushed New York in the regular season: I was at that game in full view of that beat down, and ole' lunky couldn't stop them. The Capitals are a team made of flash - speed - finesse. Lunqvist is a great goalie, but he can't stop the onslaught that the Bruins will unleash on the rest of the team. Sorry to say, but one superior player does not a series make.

11:42 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

bruins will pummel either the rangers or the pens/flyers next round...
bruins are 4 lines deep, pitts and flyers are NOT. but it is likely we'll play the rangers...who we'll just beat-up like we did the habs. fragile pussys. avery will be reality checked in that series...like how the b's crushed the stars this year when he was there.
mike modano: "this was the most embarrassing experience of my hockey career"

same story, different teller. rangers defense is weak, and lundqvist will be tough to beat but not unbeatable. their forwards are too slow, we'll outlast them in a 7 game series. bring on carolina in the 3rd round!

If the B's don't stand a chance in the second round et le but, I wonder how the Habz would have done? Nevermind as the Habs just got their assess handed to them, got beat up in the process and ultimately humiliated in front of a nation. Happy 100 years you glorious pack of singing assholes. Go gut your team and get ready to suck for a few more years to come.

On another note:
Poor Metro. I think he still has another year on his contract. See the way he hugged all his B's pals after the SWEEP was complete? It kills him to wear the f**kin sweater and play in that eurotrash henhouse. If there was ever a time to beg for a buyout, this is it.

You know Metro hates all those dumbshit fans (thats you et le blue), and the retarded management. The Flyers really fucked him on that one, but it was good to see the love from the Bruins for Metro.

Et le blue, your silly list of injured players is a non-factor.
Maybe you dont remember the Providence Bruins beating your fully rostered team on Silly Jersey Day. Remember that day you fuckin idiot? You came here bragging our shortened roster would fall to your stupid habs, and you would enjoy the superbowl even more. It was the Bruins fans that were laughing their way through the superbowl!!!! Man, what great day.

You hold on to that "offside" call, and what you should be thinking about, is how much of a bunch of pussies the Bruins made your dirty habs out to be.

Examples? Uhhh...Krejci bounces off a check, overpowers your D, and sets up aand scores a playoff game winning goal no hab has worked that hard for. Why? Well, aside from the fact they suck, the habs dont care...and for that matter, no UFA's want to sign there. Gee, you had a great time getting UFA's this last offseason,...I mean you got Tanguay!!!! Woohooo!!!!! Top talent like that is just begging to play in front of the crowd that boos its team off the ice. Of course, everyone knows the habs tried for like 6 other players first! Ha ha ha.....and to think Savard and Chara signed in Boston in a heartbeat. Sucks to be you.

I also loved how Koivu let Kobasew overpower him for the empty netter in game 3. I mean, what the fuck!? What kind of a captain is that? One who is leaving town?

Et le blue, we have laughed so hard at your demise, your STUPID predictions, at the uninspired play of your team that is likely to lose impact players over the offseason, and suffer another UFA drought.

We have laughed at winning on Patrick Roy night, Silly Jersey day

....and HOLY SHIT...

WE SWEPT YOUR STUPID hABS!!!! (never capitalize "habs"...no respect).

Suicide alert! Suicide alert! Montreal has been on red alert for burning and hanging people running through the streets.

Et le blue, did you go out and "riot" last night? Did you burn a car or building? Fascinating!

I'm not going to start making predictions about the next round. It really doesn't matter. The Bruins took a great season, dominating a lot of teams all year long, went into the playoffs, and destroyed the habs.

Et le But: Excuses don't win championships. You'd think you would know that, after all the habs do have 24 of them. With your pride comes an ignorance that you obviously don't see. It makes you look like an idiot. The Canadiens team that played in the playoffs looked terrible. Having guys out with injuries makes the rest of the team play like garbage? Yeah ok. The Referees? Give me a break - sounds like the excuse of a spoiled fan. Good teams find a way to play through adversity.

It's over. Just like the Lucic one punch on Komisarek. That easy.

Sorry buddy, go cry somewhere else.

invisible in the playoffs...enjoy the offseason in sweden you useless bag of crap!

the trade was ultimately this:
-medium joe thornton to sharks
-sturm, kobasew and ference to the bruins

i think it got so much heat because all the shitty moves that were done around that time by MOC:
zhamnov, fitzgerald, raycrap, etc.

also letting rolston, knuble, nylander and gonchar walk for basically nothing was probably a mistake too.

savard: 5 mil
thornton: 7 mil
