Finally some hockey!
Manny Fernandez will start in goal tonight against the Toronto Maple Leafs. This will be Fernandez's first start since a brutal performance against the New York Rangers on March 8th. Fernandez allowed 4 goals (3 very soft) on only 30 shots. With back to back games this weekend the Bruins would much rather have Thomas start against Philadelphia tomorrow. Byron Bitz who was expected back in the lineup to take Phil Kessel's spot, is now scratched in favor of Steve Montador. Mondator, a defenseman, will skate on the fourth line. Kessel's injury is believed to be a right shoulder which was injuried against the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 8th. Kessel has not missed any previous games since the injury. Here is the rest of the lineup:

ward looked brutal out there tonight. not a fan of montador as a forward. i too hate the 3 guys at the blueline. only thornton axelsson and montador do it though, hopefully no one else starts. manny was being manny. good test tomrrow vs philly.
it was an entertaining game tonight, the goal tending sucked at both ends, but at least we got the win. i liked having montador on the fourth line, he did not look great at times, but he played a in your face style, and he went into the danger zones. thats what you want from a fourth line. we will see tomorrow against a physical philly team how that line holds up. i would like to see more of that line though.

Kind of a crazy game ! I liked the goal scoring from a lot of guys that needed to get going. I'm not even going to touch on Manny....brutal....he will have to retire after this year he has just plain lost it ! Lucic a good tilt and is starting to play like the ol' Milan. Psands, I would like to see Bitz on the fourth over Montador. But this was not a bad situation for one game vs the leafs, and Bitz got away from what he was doing well. The last time he played was in Pitt, and he was pretty much absent. No shots, one hit recorded. He should get another shot to see how effective he can be before playoffs start. We could use his grit, but thats up to him.
I dont see it as a continuing trend because Montador was just brought in for playoff depth. So, with Kessel out I think Claude wanted to insert Montador to keep him fresh as he hadnt played since the Pitt game going -1, but had two strong outings in the 2 games previous.
Its important to keep him going as picking up Montador was a good move giving us a dman who has been to the finals, and has shown durabitlity, He also gives the Bruins the opportunity to despite an injury to dress 6 experienced dmen, who suffer the most thoughout the playoffs.
They should try Manny at forward....has to be better then in the net !!
I think even Willass is a better goalie than Manny.
so i finally got around to watch the full UNH game...un real. i played hockey against that bobby butler in high school.
it was nice to see some scoring last night. cant say enough about how bad manny is...i really did not like montador as a forward, but what are ya gunna do? i would rather see the reborn lord byron over him. bitz is loving life out there and will do anything to make a statment.

just put kessel in for pj when he is healthy, dont change anything else. i know i am pretty much alone on this but i like montador on the fourth line. he plays hard and sticks his nose in the tough areas of the ice. i do agree that it would be nice to see if bitz could add that same element, but he needs to be more consistent. he need to play like the big man he is before he starts getting more time.

jack edwards laughing like the evil man in any horror film was amazing. i thought it was my ol man laughing because i couldnt belive jack would do that on live tv. it was awesome. james hartnell has got to be the ugliest human alive and watching him getting taken down was great.

I agree, he is owed his just deserves and I hope the Bruins pay him well. Playoffs will definitely play a role in his new contract, and that can only be good for Bruins fans.
Lets cut Montador some slack, he hasn't played much recently, and they stuck him up on wing where he's has performed OK. I still like his grit, and if he starts playing where he was expected, then that adds another scary force to the team (gotta love having Chara hitting, Thornton, Looch, Montador, Stuart, even Bitz... would you want to go 7 games with those guys?)
Me and some friends of mine were watching the game and we had to rewind and listen to jack edwards over and over again, and I noticed Yahoo! had a blog entry about it with a video from the game "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH... it's true!"
He may be a homer, and many people don't like him, but you have to love that he's as big of a fan as any of us.
I liked what I saw tonight, there was no let up. They played a full 60 Minutes and although the game ended 4-3, I think we can say that the B's beat them pretty good (that 5-3 they killed was intense!)
