No Kessel for the weekend

Phil Kessel will not travel with the team to either Toronto or Philadelphia. He has been ruled out with an undisclosed injury for both games. Kessel will be reassessed next week. Here are the practice lines:

Axelsson-Savard-Wheeler
Lucic-Krejci-Ryder
Recchi-Bergeron-Kobasew
Thornton-Yelle-Bitz

Well...better now then later. This might be good for Wheeler to step up and get his game going before play-offs !

It is going to be a battle vs. Toronto...that team works hard and has NO PRESSURE !!

Sounds like an injury from practice over the week? Don't recall him leaving the ice hurt vs. NJ.

james i agree i cant wait for next season when he wont be back just imagine

lucic-sav-kes
sturm-berg-kob
wheeler-krej-ryder
thornton-sobotka-bitz

theres no need for him plus 1.85 for someone who is going to slot on the fourth line hurts the club.
plus just think the bruins may resign yelle, have soderberg, or have one of the other young baby bs make the club. the forwards are all set next year. the d might be an issue with ward aging badly and still due 2.5 mil

I dunno... why would they keep Sturm around? he's a high injury risk and he's getting what... 3.5?

Also, I love Bergeron, but if they keep Krejci it'd be stupid to not keep that line 2nd (Krejci is 2nd in points, Ryder is 2nd in goals, and Wheeler's 8th in points and he's a damn rookie).

Well, time for someone else to step it up a bit more; namely Chucky, Ryder and Wheeler.

sturm has a no movement clause. no one said anything about breaking up the 2nd line.

I agree Axelsson gets paid too much under the cap system, but if there were no cap I would have nothing to complain about him.

Axelsson, great on the PK and 4th line duty. 4 goals on the season; 2 of which are ENG. Thats palying half the season with Savvy. PK and 4th line only!!!!

Marco Sturm isn't going anywhere. He was a huge part of the team last year, and before he got hurt. He's a Solid second line player.

Savard will get 3 points on Saturday with Axe on his line and somehow PJ will end up 0-0-0 -1

fucking claude and pj, claude loves him, so fucking annoying, if we lose one game in the playoffs he will probably bench kessel and have pj playing first line. pj is valuable but not on the first line.

i cant wait until he is not back next year. good thing pc and cam are running the off season moves, or claude would offer pj a five year 25 million dollar contract.

i would love to see sobotka a full timer. sturm isnt going anywhere, as much as i like marco, he really is a huge injury risk. next season is going to be even better. theres no way manny is staying. that will free up some cap room, and when the vets such as yelle and recchi part ways, it will open up for our young talent to show off what they got.
pj isnt going away any time soon either. ive been an axe fan and i still am. but i really think he may be just a tad out of his prime.
i would love to see st. pierre get some playing time or mikko leahtonen.
