Bruins - Flyers Postgame
- Manny Fernandez played for the first time in over 30 days. Fernandez allowed 4 goals but did not look too bad. A few unlucky bounces make the 4 goals more misleading then they appear.
- Michael Ryder missed the game with a facial fracture. He may require surgery. Shawn Thornton skated in his place on the second line.
- Aaron Ward missed the game with the flu. Matt Hunwick took his spot and was paired with Chara. Hunwick logged 14:42 of ice time.
- Mark Stuart recorded two assists giving him 6 assists for the season, a career high. Stuart and his defensive partner Shane Hnidy finished +3 a piece.
- Phil Kessel and Milan Lucic only skated 40 seconds of powerplay time.
- Blake Wheeler logged only 7:30 of ice time. Only one shift in the third period. He also received no powerplay time. Wheeler's linemate, David Krejci, 10th in the league in points and arguably the Bruins best center only played 12:41. While Wheeler did take two bad penalties, he is still one of your top forwards. If Julien wants to send messages to players who hurt the team, why not sit Axelsson when he makes two awful plays resulting in two goals against in the previous game?? Axelsson skated 21:06 with 4:23 in powerplay time, both more than Wheeler and Krejci combined. Did I mention Krejci is 10th in the league in points?

i cant stand juliens lovefest with axelsson.
pj is really starting to bother me, why is he playing on the pp. julien really needs to get over him. he hurts us. also put wideman back on the point instead of bergeron. i love him but it does not look good right now.
I agree with you both. Here's my theory...they are giving P.J. more time to "show his stuff" as maybe he is going somewhere. Maybe they want to show P.J. has an offensive side to him to make him more attractive to other teams ??? Just throwing it out there. P.J. and Ference in a package to go.....fine by me !!
the bruins are 1 win away from 40 on the season, you have got to be kidding me.
while they might be one win away from 40 wins this has been happening alot lately. krejci is probably the best player on this team. this is the reason why julien was fired in NJ because he played veterans like pandolfo, madden, etc instead of the skills players.
Don't like the way things look lately. Sure they sit at the top but they don't look like they are playing too great. Need to shake things up.

the boston devils.
i hate to sound like a broken record but its the powerplay thats killing them. they should have won on that powerplay at the end of the game when the goalie was called for delay of game. if ive added correctly they have only scored 2 pp goals on 28 chances since playing washington 6 games ago. thats sad imo. thank god they can score even strength eh?
they use to be able to score even strength....
Alot of you guys make very good points and we should be happy with the way the season has wentso far but I feel the same way we need to make a move or two. Some of these guys are getting to comfortable and they need a jolt. The last 10 games we've looked like last years team where did the offence go. We just dont look like the hard hitting, hard skating, hard team too play against anymore and I hate too see this season in to waste.
Sorry I meant go to waste
sturm, lucic, kessel, ward, ference, fernandez all out with injuy's over the past month. once again the team needs to gel before you will see them scoring like they were before, and now teams are ready for them. think back to the last couple of years with this team, they'd go up 2-1 and try not to lose the game and then end up losing because of that, they will get the killer instinct back again, i say no need to worry, they have only lost one regulation game over the past 11, am i right? do not shake things up too much, what they really need is to get a good left handed winger with a "scorer's" touch. i loved hearing erik cole's name if that was true. he is also a gritty forward who has won a cup.
any further word on getting Cole? Has there been any updates?

i thought i'd check-in. you guys are still fucken morons. yeah, let's fire julien. maybe neely can take-over.
haha, mook you always add something funny. i dont think pekese was sayin fire julien i think hes sick of seein axelsson (as am i) get all this ice time even when he has awful games.
I agree with the point that the Bruins have been getting too comfortable. They've been making some lazy-assed passes, bad passes, and haven't been hungry enough for pucks. Other than the Thornton/Yelle/Bitz line, there isn't a lot of energy.
I wasn't on the hatePJ bandwagon, until the Ottawa game. Wow. He makes some really bad decisions and doesn't show enough skill to make plays or make up for that with any energy. He's not a PP guy. Yeah, he won the game for them, but he's not a skill player. Get over it Julien.
damn this site gets alot of hits a day
