4 Bruin Scouts at Avs - Wild game

There were four scouts for the Bruins at the Wild - Avalanche game on Wednesday night. In addition to the Bruins scouting team, there was also scouts from 8 other teams. It is believed that Kim Johnsson was being showed by the Wild, especially since they are looking to deal a defenseman for a forward. It is extremely unlikely the Bruins have any interest in Johnsson, especially since his salary is 5.3 million next year, 4.85 million which counts against the cap. Other potential targets from the Wild that they could have been looking at are defensemen Martin Skoula and Marc Andre-Bergeron. From the Avalanche the Bruins could have been scouting Tyler Arnason, Ian Laperriere, or defenseman Jordan Leopold.

Not sure what to think of this but the Avalanche could use a goaltender. While Laperriere would be a great addition to the Bruins, there is zero chance they give up Fernandez for him.

laperriere would be a huge fit for this team. hes gritty and similar to thornton. i dont think the bruins should go after defensemen. laperriere and then tkachuk or cole hopefully

tkachuk/cole-sav-kes
wheel-krej-ryd
lucic-bergeron-kob
thornton-yelle-laperriere.

odd man out- pj. no size,no passion, no offensive skill. peace.

tkachuk is way tooo old. and cole is having such a terible year. if i ran the show then Hunwick would NOT be going anywhere.

Trading Svbotka (sp?) + Lashoff or Bitz and maybe a pick for torontos nikoli antripov would be money

looch-bergy-antripov would be a power house line and the guy is coming up on being an unrestricted free agent. The leafs need young talent and we need a power scorer

thats way too much for antropov.

I agree; that is way too much for anything besides a top D man or left wing. To be honest, i am not sold on Antropov. There is a reason he is being shopped and I dont think its the same case as Michael Ryder.

However, Id take Grobovski in a decent swap, but he aint goin' nowhere, unless Toronto is really really retarded.

id be happy replacing pj with any forward for sobotka plus a pick, i feel like hunwicks potential is great and for the lack of value theyd get for bitz, its not worth losing his size and heart right now. id love to add cole to the third line with berg and kobes, but why is everyone moving looch off the first line, he does a great job with savy and kess

also, the bruins do need to add grit for the playoffs, they have the speed, defense and scoring ability to win a cup, but guys who can forecheck and back it up with physicality are needed besides forwards such as looch and thornton

come playoff time, there looks like there wont be a need for pj. no size, no grit, no energry, no skills. he just doesnt fit in with this team.

i agree that looch is doing awesome on the 1st line. i was just making a point with him and antopov on the same line would be insane. and if you threw bitz on that line it would be probably the most feared.
i agree with the fact that it may be time for pj to call it quits but i sitl give the guy credit for all he did.

and saying antropov is garbage is kinda redic. he doesnt want to play for toronto, hes playing with no heart. but him on a team thats playoff bound and #1 in the league and you would see a change. he's a great fit for the bruins. whatever happens i really hope we keep matt hunwick

The sky is not falling.....but the pucks also aren't going in like they were earlier. Some minor tinkering for depth and a little touch is needed !! Hopefully Kessel and Krejci slump now and lite it up later !!

antropov has never impressed me. i live in toronto, so i watch him play more than anyone...garabge. has he ever scored more than 20 goals in a season? just once! antropov is not the missing pice to help someone win the cup. if the bruins get him, i hope i'm wrong but he is garbage.

if i had to bet, he'll stay in toronto cause noone is interested, or he'll go for a lot less than anyone expected.

I would like to see a big Dman and a forward with that can score. I have heard the name Pronger thrown about to come here. I would also like to see Cole come.

What would be the chance that both, or either would wear the Black & Gold?

Out of the 2 which one would everyone like to see?

I'd love to see Pronger, although he's said that he doesn't want a trade and the ducks haven't approached him about one.

Pronger and Chara? Wow.

Maybe the coaches should get them working on their break-outs. They were absolutely brutal at trying to get out of their own end. Passing the puck 4 times back and forth behind their own net, then trying a reach-pass to center isn't working. Even if they make the pass they're getting shut down at the other blueline because they're 1 on 3.

Great point da wreck. Clean & crisp breakouts are a necessity if you want to be consistently good at this level.
The effort has been there the last 2 games but at times it seems the intensity drops off. There is no desire to take the puck to the net - mostly playing on the edges.
I have been a PJ supporter for years, however I am growing increasingly frustrated with his play of late & with Julien's confidence in him. The shoot-out by PJ was brutal. Surely the B's have someone better than PJ.
As for the trade deadline, the B's need a D and a gritty forward who can alos contribute offensively.

also lets try hunwick in and hnidy out
stuart-chara
hunwick-wideman

hahhahaa. just kidding...

i like the idea of jason smith, but i'm not sure who i would play with him given the existing lineup. honestly i think he'd do well with thornton and yelle...don't think he'd crack the top 2 lines for sure. maybe with bergeron and kobasew?

6:57 PM

jason smith is a defenseman for the flyers. ryan symth plays for the avs but his contract is 6 mil + a year for 3 more years. no thank you.

Ryan Smyth makes way too much money for what he's worth, and he's got a couple years left on his contract, so I can't see that one happening.

we are so soft right now, get rid of pj, bring in a guy like laperriere to play with yelle and thornton, he can play and also be scrappy. then bring in someone like cole or i would personally love to see tkachuk in boston with bergy and kobasew.
lucic-savard-kessel
ryder-david-wheeler
tkachuk/cole-bergy-kobasew
thornton-yelle-laperriere

thoughts?
