Bruins at Maple Leafs

Aaron Ward will play tonight after sitting out the previous 3 games with a charlie horse.

Tim Thomas is in goal once again for the Bruins. This is the sixth consecutive start for Thomas.

Sobotka-Savard-Kobasew (Like the Sobotka addition)
Wheeler-Krejci-Ryder
Axelsson-Yelle-Bitz
Nokelainen-St.Pierre-Thornton

Chara-Ward
Stuart-Hnidy
Hunwick-Wideman

Thomas

After this game, the Bruins get a much needed rest because of the All-star break. Hopefully with this rest, it allows all the injured to fully recover from their injuries. Expect to see Patrice Bergeron, Milan Lucic, and Andrew Ference in the near future. Lucic and Ference should be available for the first game back against Washington. There is no time table on Bergeron's return but he has been practicing on a daily basis and is close to being ready as well.

WTF PJ SHOULD NOT BE ON THE THIRD LINE. HE IS A FIRST LINER. SOBOTKA SUCKS ASS AND BEFORE NO TIME PJ WILL BE BACK WITH SAVARD. LUCIC SHOULD BE ON THE THIRD LINE WHEN HE COMES BACK PJS A MUCH BETTER OPTION!

That's it. I'm ordering an Axelsson jersey. He's actually not as bad as you all think he is. Not that I agree with him on the first line, but gimme a break. The Bruins are awesome this year. Go cry with some Montreal fans somewhere.

Hunwick played a very responsible game. his size is a limitation...don't know his height and weight but he looks/plays like a small player.

Kovalev is the East captain? wow. what has he done this year? or most of his career? show that he's good when he wants, and otherwise float around, and play soft, with no heart?

awesome. screw 100 years.

hahahaha festive.

so what areas do the bruins need to improve in so they can win the cup this year?

off the top of my head, i can't think of any glaring shortcomings...but i'd have to say that we could upgrade some of our 3rd and 4th line wingers. without sturm, we have:
kobasew
lucic
wheeler
ryder
as our top 4.

after that it's:
sobotka
axelsson
thornton
st pierre

(assuming our centres are savard, bergeron, krejci, mokelainen and yelle)

we could trade fernandez for an upgrade. i'm sure there's a good backup somewhere we could snag on a 1-year contract...but who would we trade for?

p.s.: neb, tell your mom i'll be there late tonight...so you have to go to the late 10:20 showing of "the cutting edge"

Mook, you crack me up. Priceless shit.

I do think they could use a vet winger on the fourth line. Honestly, i like both Sobotka and Nokie. I think they fit the protege of a Bruin.

But the Bruins are on the verge of pushing far in the playoffs, so if we can slide in someone without taking a hit to our system...then do it. I say stay away from the top of the deadline list.

Players like Andy Macdonald and Comrie hold the most overall value...but at what price? We have players to fill those roles.

Mark Recchi. There it is. Thats the only player to me that will obviously be shopped who could come in with some speed and scoring that would add potency to the 4th or 3rd line.

Other than that....culture the team!!!! PC is the man...and unlike some of the impatient Bruins fans here and there, he has the biggger picture in mind.

That being said...I cant wait to watch Tim Thomas this weekend...and yes... that was meant to be in the face of ALL those who wrote him off; ONCE AGAIN, by even some of you.
