Game Notes 1/8/08 vs. Ottawa

According to Bish, P.J. Axelsson has finally been taken off the first line. Great news there. Axelsson is a good player, but putting him in a role where it makes it very difficult for him succeed only hurts this team, which was made more apparent the last 2 games. Axelsson is best used on a line that isn't expected to score multiple goals every night. Playing him on more of a checking line utilizes his skills much better. Good move by Julien after finally realizing Axelsson does not work on the first line, a move that hasn't worked for the past 3 seasons. Hopefully its the end of that experiment.

Martins Karsums was recalled on an emergency basis. He will probably stick around until Lucic is healthy enough to play again.

Stephane Yelle has recently been battling the flu. He is still expected to play tonight.

Aaron Ward is playing tonight. Lucic and Hnidy are both out.

a lot of teams have been playing a high forecheck against the b's...starting to work against our 3 and 4 lines causing turnovers.

bruins should be smashing the sens...this is bad.

fuck off with the axelsson talk, we've got bigger underacheivers.

question: if you were to buy a bruins jersey today, who's number would you get? don't say axelsson you nut-sucking cockass...

17, 91 and 81 in that order. No question.

I agree, Neb is the official "festive" poster here.

This of course Neb, is based on your comments, and i really do respect your blind festiveness for PJ; he is a great 3rd liner.

You can kinda tell he is a 3rd liner, from all the years he has played on the 3rd line. Just a hint.

Also, 100 goals in 11 years doesnt really qualify as a first line candidate. I mean, when Bill Guerin played with Doug Weight, Allison and Thornton he was scoring 40. He used to be regarded as a 3rd liner/4th liner on the Devils, but he developed when given the chance,...PJ is just flat out a great 3rd line player.

Sorry Neb, but hopefully you enjoyed PJ's goal last night; I actually suspect that regardless of your festive rants, I could qualify myself as a longer standing (and realistic) PJ fan than you are.
