Where Are You?

Just curious to see where the folks are that decided to rip me a new one at the trade deadline when I was criticizing the team for not making a move? After being outscored 19-4 over the past 3 games, some defensive depth would be nice right around now wouldn't it? Plus after losting Aaron Ward for the past few games it would have helped even more.

Anyone care to question this again?

I am here and still refused to be held hostage by a selling team to and ruin the future of this team to "try" to get to the playoffs this year.

The team you see now is the same players that are just having some "mental" issues. They'll get through it. Trades at the deadline would not have helped this team down the road as they would be getting rentals for a losing season.

Besides, the biggest problem right now is Thomas is faltering and goaltending was never a question for trade.

the big problem lately is that the b's are not playing like a team...there is no cohesiveness. introducing new players--even moderately skilled players like hossa--would make it even worse.

anyone notice tim thomas has new pads on? what a stupid time to break-in new pads...fire essensa.

I am from Winnipeg and got to see Essensa for years when he played for the Jets (boy do I miss them), anyway. At times he was almost run out of town, now others see why. Try on new pads in training camp not when making a push for the playoffs.

But you can't blame it all on Thomas, the D is playing like they don't care, or are incapable. Please get it together.

And I was one of the ones that said to pick up a D-man. Bergeron from the NYI would have been nice.

i just wanted a defenseman and i was ok by them not trading at the deadline. It would be nice to see Lashoff up right now and sit ference. Hes been terrible lately. Bring up pelletier again and bench murray, i wanted to throw something at the tv for 4 of his penalties the last few games. I feel bad for savard too. Playing with axe and muzz is sad. Bring in some players in the offseason. We dont have a first line.

Deadline day is the most over-rated day in the hockey calandar. Unless the Bruins are a top seeded team like they were a few years ago when the got Gonchar and Nylander (and we all know how that turned out), I don't want them making deals at the deadline. We may have lost 2 games pretty badly but we still have our young players.

Yeah because defensive depth would make sure that our 4 goals would have won us those games. What a bunch of egotistical crap! Defense would definitely help but it sure as hell is not the cure all for the past three games especially since we won three straight after the deadline passed.
The past three games all three aspects of the game have been lacking at times: scoring-in all 3 games, defense-in the Wash and Tor games, and goaltending-in the Wash and Tor games. With defensive depth maybe we wouldn't have gotten blown out twice but with the other areas sucking we still would have lost.
So go ahead and keep blindly patting yourself on the back!

This is the exact same team that was unbeaten in 6, and got 9 of 10 possible points on their last big road trip. Injury problems? No kidding. Rewind the entire season. They've overcame that. Getting any of the players the B's were supposedly interested in at the deadline wouldn't have made a difference. They need their physical game to make a difference again, and gain the confidence they had as a team back...
They'll be fine.

i agree totally with JHA
since the first post about trade deadline
now nothing can do
about trade a sniper forward or a D
just pray for the team play with more consistence and thomas back to the way

yes,the bs should have traded away all the young prospects for a overpriced vet so then they wouldnt have gotten blown out the last few games. you are a moron

You don't trade away all of your youth for a sniper or an overpriced vet. Prospal and Bergeron went for basically nothing. Those two deals were doable and we wouldn't have given up all of the great talent that everybody says we have. According to everyone here our youth will be our saviour, they will lead us to the Holy Grail as soon as they hit the big time. What a load of bull! Yes we have good talent coming, but they aren't the be all and end all of the game. How good will they be if they don't have vets to help them on the way? What will happen to them? They will become lost and then will get traded away when they don't preform. What will we get for them? A bag of pucks? Or the same young players who didn't pan out on other teams, other teams who had vets to lead them.

So yes I say trade a couple of the young players and get a vet or two. Get players like Prospal and players like Bergeron. You wait until the off season to pick up players like Hossa and Campbell. That way you have a mixture of youth and experience.
