Back to Business

First off, I'm glad I was able to get such a rise out of people with my last posting. Glad to see there's that many hardcore fans still checking the site. I'm a little more calm now after the win against Ottawa, but a great test comes tonight against the Penguins and new guy Marion Hossa.

One interesting tidbit that Fluto Shinzawa posted on his daily blog, in reference to Hossa. He reported that Hossa said he heard whispers about landing in Boston, where he would have been reunited with fellow Slovakian Zdeno Chara, former Atlanta teammates Marc Savard and Glen Metropolit, and ex-Senators Peter Schaefer and Shane Hnidy.

Hossa said, "I heard news about Boston too, but it never happened," said Hossa. "I always enjoy playing with Big Z. Maybe one day again. We'll see."

Thoughts: Interesting words from Hossa for sure, who becomes an UFA this summer. Consider the B's to have a VERY REAL shot in landing this guy if he's saying glowing words like this about former teammates.

please don't waste money/time on hossa. bruins--and every other team in the league--need players like lucic and (recently) scotty thornton. hossa is no better than glen murray (when healthy). he won't help the b's any more than kessel will next year. anyone notice kessel getting better between this year and last? that will continue...given the quality of the bruins system...he will develop into a complete player. it wasn't too long ago that there was a one-dimensional player drafterd 1st overall that the bruins weaned onto a full nhl sched to become one of the more dominant players today. sure we traded him for sturm stuart and primeau, but that won't--or should i say NEVER-- happen again.

point is, the bruins need character players. hossa is not that, nor will he ever be. next year should be interesting, especially between the pipes!

shawn, scott, whatever. (scott sounds better, actually)

not saying build a team around him...but i certainly wouldn't build a team around hossa either. LATELY he has been playing very well. CHARACTER.

you cant defend that mistake just by saying whatever and that scott sounds better. An apology would have done just fine as that is a common mistake. However, your approach makes you sound stupid. go to LA and root for your boy "Scotty!" Also, Ferkneendez? What the hell are you drinking at 3:26 in the afternoon? Worst attempt at a joke in recent memory...

The point of a blog entry is to get a point across. Not to fret over a typo, misplaced name. The person who goes out of their way to call someone out for mispelling, typo etc, is the tool.

Mook, while I defend your post and respect you as a B's fan more than most here, I dont completely agree. I think Hossa would give them scoring punch that could put them over the top.

We'll see what happens, but once again, Hossa knows we will have more cap space next season....

Go Bruins!!!

Glen Murray is a solid player and a great teammate, but anyone that doesn't recognize that Marian Hossa is at least twice the player at this point in their carreers is completely blind from Bruins bias. Hossa is a monster... I'm just not sold that we need a monster. I am glad that we didn't get Hossa, but it isn't because Glen Murray is better.
