Trade Day Impressions So Far

With the trade deadline 2 and a half hours away, there has been action all over the NHL today.

-Cristobal Huet to the Washington Capitals for a 2nd round pick - Wow, get me up to Montreal right now because I want to thank them for making this move. Huet has killed the Bruins this year. I think Montreal, despite probably getting Hossa today, have shot themselves in the foot by trading away what is the most important thing to have for a stretch run, which is good goaltending.

-Tampa Bay improves by being a seller? - Talk about addition by subtraction. Brad Richards was an overpaid player with declining production. In return they possibly get a #1 goaltender. They also hang on to Dan Boyle. It might be a little too late, but I would not be the least bit surprised if the Lightning made a run late in the season.

Nothing out of the Bruins camp yet today. I fully agree with Chiarelli for not pulling the trigger this weekend on the deal for "an impact forward," (which we all know was Marion Hossa). If he wasn't going to be able to extend him, then it would have been a horrible deal to execute. With that said, the Bruins better at least do something to improve this team. I will not accept seeing this team stay completely silent today. At the very least, they could at least add a depth defenseman.
