Who won at the deadline?

Okay everyone, calm down.

Who won at the deadline? I am serious. No one did.

First off, let's take a look at huge names that changed teams.

Campbell to San Jose...a 1st and Bernier, a great young winger for a guy who will command HUGE money and walk at the end of the season most likely.

Richards to Dallas...Overpaid and overrated, and they gave up Jussi Jokinen AND Mike Smith. Bad deal by Dallas.

Hossa to Pittsburgh. Panic move IMO. No extension and they gave up a top prospect, a 1 st and 2 good players. He WILL walk. No way they can afford Malkin, Crosby and Hossa. Hossa is going to test the market no matter what.

Foote and Salei to Colorado. Yeah they improved, but still I don't see them doing much in the playoffs.

The Wings missed out on everyone and got Brad Stuart. Wow who cares.

If anything, the East is a lot easier now. Buffalo is a wreck, the Isles are in shambles.

Look I know you wanted a move, I did, but what kind would you have liked? Aside from the late picks for people, Sundin, Jokinen and Havlat were not moved.

it seems to me the B's focused on trying to do a "big deal"...and they were smart to not overpay. That being said, why didn't we pick up a puck handling D guy or a 2nd line forward...because many were available at quite low cost

Surprisingly I'm happy about the B's not making a move. Aside for Philly's move for Prospal lastnight nothing looks overwhelmingly good to me. I like that we didn't mess with our team chemisty and didn't throw away our young talent for a quick fix. Sure the way the team is set up now we'll be lucky to make it to the second round of the playoffs, and that's fine with me. Making the playoffs with all the injuries to this team would be impressive in itself. Management sticking with this group of guys instead of going after a rental players is going to payoff in the end.

No moves last year? The Bruins were not in contention last year and they sent 2 UFA's to Calgary for 2 roster players, and Brad Boyes to ST.Louis for Wideman. 2 of the 3 player aquired are a huge part of the team this year. Some of you clowns have to leave Pete, Cam and the rest alone, its you that doesn't know how things are done.

This is ridiculous... I'm a bruins fan and it seems like peter chiarelli doesent understand how to be gm in boston.By making no deal he has once again made people in boston care even less about the bruins and even if we make the playoffs we wont go any where far because we have no scoring help.....THANKS

Next you'll tell us that it is not Jeremy Jacobs fault that the Bruins are now the equivalent of an expansion team and that he is certainly in it to win games and that he is not a greedy SOB.

all you bitches need to calm down. how many times in the past have our gm's try to bring in big names to help this club "now". all we got were old washed up names that couldn't produce. be happy this staff has realized that the road to a cup starts with developing from within and having good drafts. stop bitching hossa would have been here for 3 months, kessel would be out and boston would still be without a cup. peterand the gang did the right thing.

listen the reason the bruins arent loved in boston is because everyone has their sox and pats glasses on...and are too stupid to understand hockey...trust me i guarantee you walk up to someone on the street and ask them about icing or offsides they cant tell you what it is. i like not having people like the bruins because when they finally do it...well be the fans and were gonna know who the bandwagoners are

Nice post Matt, I think I almost agree with everything you said. See my post (#16 on the latest thread by JHA).

Come summer time, hello Hossa.
