Well what is Chia waiting for do something
its what this team needs. it needs a star, an identity, because obviously chara is not the star they thought he would be
Dale Arnold is a whiney little girl... Just because he lost his job with NESN he refuses to talk about the Bruins.
He sucks.
What about this trade Murray and Pj to Vancouver for Brendan Morrison and Matt Cooke
Cooke has been in the doghose in Vancouver....
No more no-names. Let's go for the big fish.
do we have the cap space for hossa?
Yes, plus we would have to give something up to get him. If we cannot sign him to an extension then the trade would be an ultimate failure but I would think B's mgt would be on it right away.

Definitely. Our offense is bad our defense isn't that great the only one playing really well is Thomas. Murray is awful this year he needs to go right now. Hossa would be a great addition to this team but I'm skeptical knowing what Bruins Management is like.
Atlanta would want an up and comer, not a loan in Murray. If he is having trouble scoring with Savvy, who's going to help him in Atlanta? Exactly. I hate to say this - but if I was Atlanta, I would have one name on my tongue - Kessel. Kessel has to go the other way and Chia would not do that. Here's something to ponder - what if Atlanta asks for Bergeron? They get a centrepiece to build around and Chia might think about it if he thinks Bergy will not be back at 100% Bergy style. It actually makes me sick to think of it, but I am thinking from Atlanat's point of view.
i would trade kessel, lashoff for hossa then sign hossa to 8 mil a year for 5 years.
^^^^ and that's why your not GM.
the anonymous gm is a better one than chiarelli is. every move he has made has been awful
I don't know about that, paying $5.5 mil a year for a player like savard is a bargain right now.
how bout murray, axelsson, alberts, chara and 2 first rounders for kovalchuk and hossa ... im joking but hey watever ... seriously tho Murray, axelsson, and alberts for hossa or keep alberts and give them a draft pick
yea for some reason i don't think 3 shit players for one of the best in the league would fly...oh wait i forgot about joe thornton...thanks MOC
I still think this will be a good trade Murray and Pj to Vancouver for Brendan Morrison and Matt Cooke
I like the way cooke playes getting under the other team skin and morrison is a good two-way player give you more speed
char is useless trade him
gregory i dont kno if u recall this or not but savard and chara were both signed by jeff gorton not chiarelli. chiarelli had not taken over gm duties til the week after. granted he may have played a role in signing them(even though he wasnt suppose to), all the other moves he has made have been absolutely awful and none have worked.
plus signing chara for 7.5 million for 5 years will be mena this team will suck for 5 more years.
Hang on a minute here.. Chia traded Stuart and Primeau for Kobasew and Ferrance. That trade has worked out just fine, in fact I think we made out beautifully in that deal. The Boyes for Wideman deal is still in question but Wideman has had a great start to this season so you cannot write that one off just yet anda the Bs needed defensemen more than scoring at the time. Now the Jurcina deal, that was (admitably by Chia) a mistake. This season is barely 1/4 thru and you dopes are already writing them off. Let's face it.. this league is already too watered down for talent so pickins are slim and you have to take some chances (read Manny) to fill the holes, especially when there is only so much available. Chia inherited a mess here so it is difficult to trade from a strength position when you are limited in strength in the first place.
dont forget in that staurt trade we lost a first round pick because he did not resign with calgary, therefore we lost that trade. brad boyes has 10 goals this season. wideman has shown some flashes, just flashes tho i will give u that. mara for ward is terrible, ward may be the most overrated defenseman in the league and as chiarelli clearly stated in preseason ward is a number 4 or 5 defenseman. givin up jurcina for nobody should have lost him his job, a 23 year old defensmean with size and he trades him for a 4th rounder? fernandez has done nothing and lost the startin job to timmy who the team did not want to be the number one goaltender on this team. now look at all these minor deals hes been making. why even make them they dont do anything for anyone. the one deal i will give him is gettin rid of mark mowers.
I believe the it was the same 4th round pick we got for Jurcina that went in the trade to Cal with Stuart and that was because they couldn't resign him. Don't count out Wideman until he has a full season in Boston. We know what we had with Boyes, yes he was a great forward, but good Defense wins hockey games (first). Fernandez hasn't had a legitimate shot either and you cannot blame Chia for his injury woes. Besides, Manny will be gone by the end of the year. This team is still rebuilding and I am under no illusion that they are going anywhere this year but should be in great shape in a year or two with the right moves. Critical time is mid-season to end of trading deadline. btw.. I hear Jeff Carter is available in Philly and they are looking for a defensive forward. Hmm.. Axelsons 3 mil contract for a young gun at 900k (+-). Sounds like a match made in heaven!
now your makin some sense... that would be a great deal for the bruins. something they should try and pull off before someone else jumps in before them and steals carter
also manny has 2 years on his contract, this and next.
which makes him an attractive trade option (if healthy of course) to other teams as they will have him part of this year and next. If his contract was up this year he would be worthless. The key is to get Rask lots of AHL/NHL playing time and then make him the backup here to play say, every 3rd-4th game. Even if they dump Manny for a draft pick or mid-range forward the Bs would make out in the deal.
the cap hit of fernandez is way too much(4.33) for an unproven, injury-prone goaltender. thats why were stuck with him and murray (4.15)for this season and next -- where both players have very little to offer and have extremely large cap hits. thats almost 9 million for a backup goaltender and a forward who cant skate or contribute in any way(besides his shot, but every team in the NHL knows thats all he has so they just guard against it). thats why chiarelli is handcuffed but he easily could have gotten out of the cuffs if not acquiring fernandez and trading murray when his value was high ( this offseason when many teams were interested in him).
Oh, Ok. So Murray is Chia's fault. Got it. It is easy to make the point now because he has not done anything (yet) this year. But he scored 28 goals in 59 games last year. There was no indication he was going to let up so if Chia trades him for nothing in the last off season, we all whine because he got nothing. Now he (Murray) is doing lousy and we all whine. There is no winning in this situation, unless of course Murray goes on a tear and then brings his value back up, which could happen.
I bet they are both (Murray/Fernandez) gone by EOY.
Score tonight is going to be 5-1 Bruins win, Murray pots 2 adds an assist and hits the post twice. Laffs score on a 5-on-3 PP midway through the third to cut the B's lead to 2-1 and then they explode.
I have a prediction for the game and it is more accurate than big-e's. The game will be close, the Bruins 2 The Leafs 1 and Murray won't contribute one bit because he sucks now.
