Boston vs Buffalo Preview

Tonight will be a tough challenge for the Bruins as they faceoff against their division rival the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres are currently last in the Northeast Division. They struggled early but after back-to-back road victories they seem to be pulling it together again. This team is still dangerous even without Daniel Briere and Chris Drury, both of whom left via free agency this summer. The Bruins will be without Patrice Bergeron, who will miss his first game of the season because of the concussion he sustained against the Flyers. There is no time table on his return. Tim Thomas will start in goal and Brandon Bochenski will finally get some ice time. Look for this game to be a tight, low scoring game. Here are the lines:

Axelsson-Savard-Murray
Sturm-Kessel-Kobasew
Schaeffer-Metroplit-Bochenski
Lucic-Krejci-Thornton

i know they weren't on the PP, but nice call on savy and kessel scoring. I was there tonight and i really felt that the bruins started playing sloppy when they stopped hitting/finishing checks. It was nice to see a win in OT even though I was looking for a shootout win at the hands of kessel toward the end of OT but, i'm glad it didnt go there. This win was huge as every win will be because the competition in this division is very high. Every game counts this year whether it's in Oct or April...GO B's!

Weird...When Buffalo came back to tie it, the Bruins pressed. And when they lost the lead again, they pressed again. Almost like they are a driven team that wants to...wants to... WIN!!!! I was so excited as the game moved on. Buffalo did not dominate, but Boston stepped up as if to say - hey Sabres, we're going to play you hard. You want two points, you're going to have to beat us good! Can't wait for the weekend series against the SENS! Ooooo I'm scared.
