Mats Sundin: Would you be interested?

If Sundin would consider coming here, would you sign him for a prorated deal that takes up 1-2 million in cap space?

We are a legit contender thus far, we have a ton of talent and we aren't a media circus (for hockey).

I think we are a better option than New York, Montreal or any other team in the East.

Where would he play? If this was last year and Bergeron was out for the season I put him centering kobasew and sturm. But he is not.

Can't break up the Savard or Krejci line. Yelle is too valuable as a 4th/checking line center.

Makes no sense. If the shoe fits wear it. And the players on this team are working out just fine.

Defense should be a trade deadline need if you ask me. If any?

I think the first question would be will he sign for just one year? Or a half year, as it sits right now?

Looking at the Bruins roster, there are more than a few key players that will need new contracts, that if everything continues to play out, the B's will want to resign. Kessel, Krejci and Hunwick are up after this season, and Lucic and Savard are up after next. If the salary cap goes down, and with the way the economy is going, it really could, where does that leave the Bruins?

You can talk about certain players being off the books after this year, But Thomas needs a raise and a new contract, and Rask has a fair sized contract himself to back Thomas up.

Put all that together, and I say sure to Sundin, if he wants to play a half year in Boston. It'd be pocket change compared to the 2 years 20 million that Vancouver offered.

Sundin is a jerk - I hope every team tells him to F-off.
I haven't seen anything so stupid since lindros blew off the league when he got drafted. If Sundin would ever wear black and gold I would never watch another bruins game. I can't believe teams are lined up to sign him - forever one of the most overated player - I hope the only cup he ever wins is the one holding his lack of balls.

First as Jimmy mentioned, we have no place to put him. Krejci, Bergie and Savvy have to be one of the deepest 1-2-3 center lineups in the league if not best. Fuck Sundin, i had a little respect for him when he was at the top of his game...but shit, he's the only player that really got Rays ire so fuck em...

Also, it sure didnt work out for the Ducks to let Niedermeyer and Selanne sit that long...they picked it up near the end of the season but didnt help in the playoffs.

I say ride this roster, and if somehow we can upgrade on D, then do it...and do it carefully and conservatively. Were in 1st place for fuck sake. Why fix something that is not broken, especially when team development has been the theme of this cultured success the Bruins and the fans are enjoying.

I think Avery would be a great edition to the Bruins team, he is a great player, does his job, and adds a few colorful remarks in the process. Boston would love this guy if he had the right crest on his chest.

Signed,

B.H.

Avery is a bigger piece of shit than Sundin - Both of them do not deserve to wear a bruins jersey.
Bring him to Boston for a day and have Chara - Lucic and Neely pound the crap out of him, Hell I think Axelson could beat up that loud mouth lousy coward. The bruins have developed the same team morale as the Sox and Patriots - no one is bigger than the team. A championship team is around the corner.

I made the comment a few days ago to my buddy during the game, "I still miss Boyes, but I'm starting to understand what PC saw in Wideman."

If Bourque didn't like Sundin , no Bruins fan should like him . PERIOD !!!

What's to miss about Boyes? The goal scoring ability? Hi, Kessel, Ryder? Wideman's great. He can find the net, plays 25 minutes a game, takes offensive load off Chara on the PP and can rush end to end.

Brad Boyes is good, but ask how many teams are 'looking for a puck moving defenceman', and you'll get your answer about the whole Boyes/Wideman trade.
