Bruins in first...for real

The Boston Bruins are in first place, who would have thought?  They aren't like the Rangers who are in first in the conference with 3 more games played or anything like that.  The Habs are in 2nd place with 22 points, 4 behind us, and have 1 game in hand.  The Bruins may be 11-7 W-L wise, but they have taken points in 15 of 18 games.  They have yet to lose by more than 1 legit goal (Toronto was an EN).  This is a tough stretch, but Florida should be an easy win and Buffalo has been struggling of late.  The game against Montreal should be entertaining.  It is nice to see that the Habs fans can't give the games played crap anymore, and speaking of them...is anyone surprised with their recent "struggle"?

No word on Sturm yet,...but man, what a character win that was.

Fuck Gaustad that little bitch. It sure was fun to light them up after Ruff claimed they were ready for this game after some super intense practices. He said he didnt like how they got roughed up last game in Buffalo. haha ha....I wonder what practice tomorrow morning will be like for the Sabres.

Sucks to be them....

Stellar night by the Bruins offense, and how about that Kobasew? 8 points in 7 games on the year. Oh and how did he get that goal in?

As one of Bruins Rumors and News Blogs biggest Tim Thomas fan if not the biggest,(by virtue of consistent arguement for over 18 months here), I am taking this blog space to post the words of my favorite NHL writer; John Bucigross.

"None of those goalies is playing better than Tim Thomas right now. And since Thomas beat Roberto Luongo head-to-head in Vancouver, one could argue that Thomas would be No. 1 in a power rankings of goalies. His omission on the All-Star ballot is baffling. Last season, he appeared in 57 games. That's more than Carey Price, Jose Theodore and Lehtonen. And Thomas' save percentage was tied for fourth-best in the NHL. In 2006-07, Thomas played 66 games and had 30 wins. It's not inactivity, and it's not performance. Very strange"

Thanks John,

and if you all havent read his ESPN.com take on AC/DC's album Back and Black being the NHL's official soundtrack,...,...well you should.

Did any one notice PJ prevent that Vanek breakaway which could have made it 5-3 Buffalo.

Still belongs on 4th line though.

Why isn't Sturm playing with Bergeron?

Jimmy, I did notice that play by PJ, it stuck out to me and its those plays that he has made for the Bruins season after season.

Glad you pointed it out. He could go the whole season without a goal. To me, as a goalie; making plays like that falls in the the category of "a goal saved is a goal earned".

i didn't watch the game...did lucic beat-down boynton?

11:22 PM
Blogger Jefe77 said...

It was Boynton. Lucic had already cut his lip and his brow before throwing a left then right combo. Boynton got spastic after that and threw wild haymakers that wiffed over Lucics head, they then tumbled down. Give it up for Nick for providing me with more entertainment as Lucics next victim. Lets just hope he can still fight Laraque tomorrow, who has apparently claimed he is not even going to honor Lucic and ask him to fight, but is going to "teach him a lesson".

I am going to need to get especially saucy tonight, because I wont be able to sleep very well...

Give up for the first place Bruins.

I hope Lucic doesn't even bother with Laraque. As much as I hate the Canadiens, Georges Laraque is THE heavyweight in the NHL. I give it up to Looch if he does go with him, but yeah, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried about that one. Laraque makes heavyweight's look like chumps.

anyways. GO B's. Ruin Patrick Roy's retirement. How amazing would that be. Patrick Roy. Puke.

First place & still no respect!!

Here in Canada the comments with respect to the B's are that they are scary good - but not good enough. The writers & the public say the B's are not in the same league as the Sharks & Wings and over the long haul the Canadiens will be the beast of the east.

Any comments?

It seems now when people see me with my Bruins gear they comment about how good they are and how they are big fans. Never heard that over the dark years. That bandwagon is getting real full. As for the Canadians being the Beast of the East in the long run. Ha, I don't think so! What I can see is the Bruins in first and Canadians in 8th at the end. Makes for a nice series.

Vince_M,
Why would you hear anything but negative comments over the "dark years". They are called dark years for a reason. I have watched about 90% of all Bruins games since I was 3 years old (I'm 31 now). I was there for Nilan's sucker punch at Boutilier. I watched my dad break his hand punching the walls and the counter during a Boston-Montreal game. I love the Bruins. But there hasn't been much to talk about until the last couple of seasons. I thinks it's great that fans are talking again and they're are proud. I live in Toronto now, so it is especially nice now that I can rub it into all the Leafs, Senators and Canadians fans. If noone was saying anything about the Bruins, than you would probably be upset at the lack of respect and how noone notices them. BE HAPPY AND PROUD that the bruins have people excited again. If they talk (good or bad), it's a sign of respect. I'm a fanatic and it would really bother me if someone says that I'm a bandwagon jumper just because I have been disappointed for a few years. Let's face it, the team did suck and the ownership was blatantly cheap. Those are the reasons why people left.

I don't want to get too excited too soon. As I thought would happen, the team is doing great and I couldn't be happier about it but anything can happen between now and the spring, and we have a long winter ahead of us. Even last season we were first in the division heading into Christmas, yes we made the playoffs, but it was down to the wire. I really can't help but to be excited, though...

Not tonight Bruin fans, not tonight. There may be help for the hopeless, but there is no hope whatsoever for your beloved Bruins tonight - not a prayer.

All Ghosts of the old Forum have been summoned to pay homage to the God of Goalies. The Bruins are so fragile when the visit the Habs in a big game that the mere mention of Ghosts & Roy will cause them to lose tonight.

An lose they will. The only good thing the Bruins will be able to take from tonight's anihilation is that my Habs will only gain 2 points. Otherwise, if goals counted in the standings my Habs would be in 1st place in the Conference after tonight.

I say 9-2 is about right & that by the way is flattering the Bruins.

I can see La Press headline now - Bruins returned to ruins! Viola.

Et le but!! Et le But!! Et le but!!

Maybe more focus on scoring rather than shadowing Lucic. Who did score by the way.

On to Buffalo we go. If Laraque wants to stare at Lucic more he can come along too.

HA HA FUCKIN HAH.

History is wrote.

Your stupid, arrogant faggots will always live with the FACT that the Bruins once again, bring your queer red wearing fucks down.

Fact is you little bitch, we have always opened your faces up. From Eddie Shore, to Milan Lucic.

You will always cry, and live in the past that will never be again.

Your stupid "Canadian Territorial Rights Bargain" is done, and you will feel the eternal decay of your self contrived "glory", that is now one of your many ghosts that represent your disrespectful organization.

The Montreal Canadiens are a joke. Just like that little pussy Komisarek, who fagged out and cant fight someone 25 pounds lighter, and 6 years younger.

Got anything to say about any of that you little fuck?

Or are you still crying over "Milan Lucic" night in Montreal?
