Bruins acquire Martin St. Pierre

Bruins today traded Pascal Pelletier to Chicago for Martin St. Pierre.  The 24 year old had 21 goals and 67 assists for Rockford of the AHL last season.

I like this move.  Pelletier would never have made the team, even though he played well scoring 37 goals and 38 assists.  St. Pierre is a year younger and has better playmaking ability, which the Bruins like.  Playmakers usually transition better then goal scorers for some reason from the AHL.

Glen Murray also passed waivers, so he will be bought out tomorrow.

I like this trade..I think I heard somewhere that the B's were having trouble signing Pelletier(RFA) to a new deal. So this trade makes sense to me. I like it.

I like as well, St. Pierre is an upgrade, and Pelletier was seeming to go nowhere.

Didnt mean to be a dick 35, but I just dont like Manny's price for 1 season, especially with Thomas coming so cheap and effective for the time being. We need a solid backup for Timmy until Rask is ready. Hopefully, next season...?

I miss the Jets more than the Nords and Whalers, thats for sure!!!

I am here in Winnipeg so I miss the Jets like you wouldn't believe. At least when they were here I could see the Bruins a couple of times a year. Actually a couple of days after my 1st son was born I was shown on TV hold a sign saying

"Tyler M - future Conn Symthe winner"

My wife and in-laws seen it on the TV, they thought it was great.

I will never forget that.

Priceless!!

Jefe no problem, I was a little harsh on Murray, but at 4 mil it's definitely his time to go.

I like what one of the anonymous posts says about Bowmeester for Alberts, Krecji, and 2nd rounder. Bowmeester would EASILY fill Alberts' skates, and we already have a Krecji in Thornton.

Does anybody else think that Schaeffer COULD be a good linemate with Bergeron? That might be the Bacardi talking...

remember Walter for Nokelienen last season? This trade is the same. Except I think both these players are career minor leaguers.

Schaeffer and Bergie might be good combo, both gritty, so lets hope Peter rebounds. Literally!

I have to admit, I knew Glen was gone, though I didnt want to!

Great guy, and a true Bruin; good luck to him.
