Bolts sign #1 pick

Tampa Bay signed the #1 overall pick from this years draft Steven Stamkos. The contract he signed was a three-year, $2.625 million contract that could be worth up to $11.175 million with incentives.

The Bolts have also signed Ryan Malone, Mark Recchi, Olaf Kolzig, Adam Hall, and Gary Roberts. The Bolts have signed a handful of vets. I think that the only guys that will help them all season long is Malone and Kolzig. Kolzig allows Mike Smith to play the majority of the games and still having a chance to win. Malone brings a hard nose style who can also score. The Lightning also get the number 1 pick signed, resigning big Vinny and still have Martin St. Louis. They also got a new coach in Barry Melrose and will be expected to make the playoffs in his first year.

The Redwings signed Valtteri Flippula to a $15 million contact for 5 years.

Mark Parrish got realsed and will be bought out by the Wild.

Vancouver and Motreal remain hot after Mats Sundin. It looks like he will be in Vancouver.

Mass native John Tortorella is the front runner for the open job on long island.

St. Louis Blues forward Dan Hinote is one of the luckiest guys in the world. Marring former playmate and Jenny McCarthy's sister Amy.

Who knows who Malone is playing with. He oculd be on a line with St. Louis and Vinny. If that's the case his numbers will go up. Sid the kid also missed a good chunk of the season.

And YES Jenny McCarthy's sister is hot.

true, sid did miss some of the season but when he was out malone was playing with Malkin and Sykora, and after that he was playing with Crosby and Hossa. His numbers won't go up based on who he's with.

Providence B's coach Scott Gordan interviewed with the Islanders..

Gordan has been a huge reason why our younger players have had such success moving up to the big club. He is a great coach and I would hate to see him leave our system. He's done and could continue to do wonders for our incoming prospect, and help them to develope into NHL players faster than most AHL coaches. I would really hate to see him go

The problem is BF35, if Gordon is offered an NHL job sooner than the Bruins do, he will go for it.

Same thing happened with Peter Laviolette. We brought him up, and he did a great job developing, but if a coach is ready for the NHL, he'll take what he can. The Bruins liked Sullivan and Laviolette walked to the NYI in a flash.

Cant blame them for wanting to upgrade thier careers.
