Predict Wednesday's Headline

Leave it in the comments section.

Savard and Hossa reunited. Bruins acquire Hossa in blockbuster deal.

Boston MA- The Boston Bruins bolstered their offense in a big way yesterday afternoon by acquiring All-Star winger Marian Hossa from the Atlanta Thrashers. The Bruins send Mark Stuart, Vladimir Sobotka, and a 1st round pick to Atlanta. Hossa also signed a contract extension worth a reported 52.5 million over the next seven seasons.

Atlanta had no choice but to trade Hossa after GM Don Waddell could not come to terms before the deadline.

"I am very happy to be a Boston Bruin," Hossa said via telephone, "I hope I can bring something special to this offense, and I can't wait to play with Marc [Savard] again. I also am glad to be back with Zdeno and I feel this was the best fit for me and my family."

The Bruins were rumored to have offered Phil Kessel, but Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli refused to deal him. "Phil is a great young player, and I think it would have been premature to give up on him. Remember he is only 20 years old. At the same time, we are sad to see Mark Stuart and Vladimir Sobotka go, but you don't get many chances to get a guy like Hossa, so I had to make a move."

Hossa is expected to wear number 18 and will be in uniform Thursday versus the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Watch for this headline:

I hope they get him but I am thinking more of a Prospect, Murray and a 2nd and/or 3rd.

My true wish is to keep Kessel and somehow add Anze Kopitar and Alexander Frolov to just bolster that starting 6. Kopitar is only 21-22 so he would probably be harder to get but Frolov, 25 is coming along good and is like a 20-30 goal guy.

For this I would trade:
Boston: Alexander Frolov and Anze Kopitar

LA: Marco Sturm, Soderberg, Krejc, 1st and Maybe a prospect...

Then get a D like Suter

Our Starting 6:

Frolov Savard Hossa
Kessel Kopitar Kobasew

That is one of if not the best top 6 in the NHL.

No way in hell you are getting Kopitar or Frolov for that fact. LA would never deal them unless they were getting Chara or someone on defense.

Matt, you have been hoping for Hossa for what seems like the whole year. I'm hoping we get him too (even if Kessel is involved).

B's could pull a Carolina, the year they won it out of nowhere, if they got the right guys Tuesday.

Any thoughts on the B's trying to get Mark Recchi too? (playoff vet)

indeed I have. Recchi isn't going to be traded according to Waddell, but I would expect the Bruins to try and get him in a Hossa deal.

I am not disagreeing with you guys when you say we won't get Kopitar and Frolov, but there is a possibility, slim yes but still out there. If Chiarelli put a package of young guys together that didn't include Kessel, Lucic or Rask, which is possible he could get it done. He could offer up Lashoff, Krejci, Nokelainen, Soderberg, Probably Hamill. A package with 3 or 4 of those guys in it to help LA for the future. LA has so many wholes that the Bruins could offer up enough prospects in a deal to get them to possibly make a deal.

This is not a rumor just a thought I had when I reviewed our roster and saw the unproven Krejci and a speedy overrated winger in Sturm. I LIKE STURM but he is not a top line LW on a STANLEY CUP Caliber team. If you look at all the teams that hoisted the cup their top 6 forwards were good players. Top 6 caliber not players trying to over achieve. Sturm is a 2nd line LW not a top line LW. He has one good trait speed not really a good play maker or goal scorer. Krejci is not that a good prospect because if he was he would have been in the NHL a long time ago.

You guys ahev no clue on what you are talking about. Krejci is a good prospect, he is young thats why he wasn't in the NHL long ago jackass! Looking at the Bruins roster now, this team is coming along nicely. Why morgage the future for a 1st or 2nd rd loss. This isnt the year for the cup. Keep the guys and see what happens. The only trade I like is Tradign for another defensemen like Suter. I would trade Thomas and keep Auld and rask up here. Thomas is over-rated. He plays hard but is not a #1. Get a draft pick for him and use it to garb a defenseman.

and what about Manny? Do we keep him or buy him out? Personally I would either try to trade him or buy him out. I like where the team is going in goal with Alex, Tim and Tukka. I would love to see Hossa, Suter or Lilles and Kopitar. Getting Reechi would be a great bonus. If by chance they do happen to get all of these guys I don't see why we can 't win the cup.

You're all drinking some serious cuckoo juice. Christ, everyone needs to relax.

There is no way Hossa comes to Boston unless Kessel is involved and Chia publicly stated that Kessel is not going anywhere.

The help is probably going to come from somewhere else.
