Bruins-Canes Preview

Currently sitting in 8th place in the Eastern Conference, the Bruins find themselves in desperate need of some points. The Bruins need to create a little bit of separation from the rest of the pack. Right now there are 5 teams below the Bruins that are within 4 points of them. The Bruins are 0-3-0 against the Hurricanes this season. Petteri Nokelainen has the flu and will not play. Peter Schaeffer is still out with a skin injury. The Canes will be with captain Rod Brind'Amour, who is done for the season, and Ray Whitney (Groin). Also Eric Cole is questionable. The Bruins should beat this team tonight and if they don't they will find out very quickly they are again in danger of missing the playoffs. Look for the Bruins to come out strong in the first and hopefully maintain that for the remainder of the game. Here are the lines:

Axelsson-Savard-Murray
Sturm-Metropolit-Kobasew
Lucic-Krejci-Kessel
Reich-Sobotka-Thornton

Chara-Wideman
Stuart-Ward
Ference-Hnidy

Thomas

Prediction:
Bruins:4
Canes:2
