Bryzgalov on Waivers; Bruins could put claim

The Ducks have placed Illya Bryzgalov on waivers, and I heard that the Bruins may place a claim in depending on what they think the injury with Fernandez is. Bryzgalov has 900k left on his deal and with Bergy likely gone for the season, adding Bryzgalov would be nice if Fernandez's knee stays an issue.

Another situation could be to claim Bryzgalov and trade Tim Thomas for some offense while his value is high.

Interesting move by Brian Burke as there seemed to be some sort of market for Bryzgalov's service.

Holy cr@p.. Anyone know why the Ducks would do this? Is he healthy? The Bs should pick him up and deal Manny.. or put Manny on waivers!! I am at a loss for words.. this guy is a more than capable backup. I would not trade Thomas. He has proven to be a more than capable #1 and is much less expensive than Fernandez. I know that anyone willing to take Manny would consider Bryzgalov first. I am all in a tizzy.. it's like the big fish swimming by the boat but the fish bucket is already full.

i agree, pick him up and manny on waivers for someone is bound to take him and it would get rid of his 4.33 million dollar salary.

come on guys, he's not coming. reason #1 is that this is the bruins we are talking about here. reason #2 Tim Thomas is playing out of his gourd right now. reason #3, the bruins are going to be committed to Manny. you don't give a guy that much money in the cap era and drop him 17 games into the season.

trade timmy? trade you for a roll o tape!we don't need ilya, the only ilya we need is kovi.manny is a excelent goalie and we as fans have to support him,to give him confidence as he will be OUR #1.if bryz was any good anahiem would not be placing him on waivers.so i say leave him alone and keep timmy and manny...

Trade Thomas.....are you kidding ? For 2 years everyone has been saying, " ah, he's ok, won't be a #1." HELLO...without him the B's would have about 3 wins !! Top 5 in goaltending stats in the league. I'm all for the Manny on waivers !!

The fact is that he will never get to the Bs anyways as the teams below them get first dibbs. I would much rather see Thomas/Brysgalov than Thomas/Manny (granted we have not seen Manny healthy). It is not going to happen, I agree, but it would put them in a better position if by some magical reason it did. Thomas is not going anywhere.. he is one of the main reasons why this team is still above 500.

Putting Manny on waivers, at this point, is plainly stupid. 1- He won't be claim, 2- He had stats, in the past, who showed that he's a good keeper when healthy.

For Thomas.... Stop thinking that this guy will save the team. TT will collapse, at some point, as his professionnal history show and showed. That's the main reason why Thomas was never picked up by any NHL team to be a #1. So, for the TT bandwagonner, don't be excited too fast. TT burned your optimism in the last two years by having terrible and i mean terrible cold streaks.

hey latrappe why dont you get your head out of your ass...you are always such a frickin pessimist...no wonder they kicked you off this blog...thomas has shown over 10+ starts this year he's number one...and manny is a shit goalie who has never held his position through the season...and lost it to roloson, backstrom and now timmah...so just shut it

If you base your opinion on 10 games then fine. I based my opinion on Thomas professionnal history as an hockey player. Manny shit goalie? You didn't look at his stats nor that you have looked at some clips of him. I think you should quit your TT buttsmoocher standpoint and look at facts. No one is denying that Thomas had a good season so far but history showed that he will collapse.

That's a fact who could be verify and if you decide to deny it then that's your problem. If Thomas is the real deal, why he wasn't picked by any NHL team before MOC signed him?. Are you saying that all the other teams in the NHL were dumb ebough to leave a potential #1 goalie play in Europe.

And by the way, if you want to insults people... Have the balls to register under a name.

hmmm maybe the reason thomas has turned the corner is because he worked his ass off this summer to get in shape...and there is such thing as an undrafted player coming to make an impact in the nhl...martin st louis anyone? anyway just thought i would throw that out there

St. Louis, Andy Mcdonald, Chris Kunitz, Dustin Penner those are undrafted players just off the top of my head. Late drafted players include Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Alfredsson. I guess all the GMs who picked players ahead of those 3 are idiots because they didn't see that they would blossom into the type of players they did. Grow up latrappe, it may be in Tims history, but the way he has played it would kill his confidence if Boston did a move like this one, and a confidant Tim is better then Bryzgalov anyway

You might be very right, here. Let's see how it will pan out. If Thomas stay on course, this B's team might surprise a lots of peoples...

Thomas is a really solid goalie right now.. let's hope they don't wear him out like the last two seasons. My point is that they need a super reliable #2 goalie and hopefully Manny is the guy if healthy. If not, let's hope Rask is up to the task and not brought along too quickly. I am hoping they plug Rask in for the Toronto game next week (again Raycroft, of course) to show them hoe much they f'd up by letting him go.

Julien said something ( globe or Herald ) that Rask might be a possibility in Toronto. That would be interesting and very motivating for the young keeper.

7-4 loss...We finally saw the real Tim Thomas tonight. Shaky, inconsistent, and out of position. Manny can't come back fast enough. I hope Rask plays well on Tuesday. Well enough to earn the home start against the Islanders and hopefully runs with the team. If you want to get rid of anyone, get rid of Thomas. He sucks my life dry!

hey thomas hater...it probably has something to do with the fact julien has played him in 13 straight starts or something rediculous like that...he is human after all and could use a break
