All I can say is I hope it is to trade him. Cia's worst deal of the year by far (getting rid of Boyes). I hope they package him for a #1 goalie.

Wideman is a #5-6 D-man at best. He's slow, prone to penalties, because he have to hook to cope with this new NHL speed, and his game in the defensive zone is porous. PC sells him as a PP specialist. Nothing could far from the truth then this statement.

I want to see him for 1 full season before I've "seen enough"

I grew up with him, and watched him playing at every level. Give him a chance. He has a lot of potential and some grit as well. A lot of you will be changing your opinion on him half way through the season. Now having said that, I still don't believe that Widey is at the same level as Boyes. The Bruins should have had something else comeback in return. He struggled once he got to Boston, but so did everybody else on the team in the last 20 games. I think after getting a training camp with the team he'll have a far better season.
