Bruins Come Out in Victory

Bruins-3
Toronto-1

Not the outcome I was expecting, in a good way. The Bruins played a full 60 minute game and in my opinion, played the best game of the season. Their first win this season by more than 1 goal.

Highlights:
-Paul Mara standing up for his teammates by fighting with Tucker. It showed the team that someone else other than Chara will stand up for his teammates. A real sparker for the team.
-Chara's goal line save. Wow! That's all I can say. The puck was about 3 inches from crossing the line when the skate of Big Z came across and shoved it away.
-Stanislav Chistov had an execellent game and played an important role in tonights game. He reminds me of Sergei Samsonov with less dancing and better decision making.
-Brad Boyes played extremely well and I hope this gets him rolling goal production wise.
-Shean Donovan also played very well, even though he didn't get on the score sheet, he played well defensively and on the forecheck.
-Petr Tenkrat also played his best game of the season. Hit the post and scored today. I like his style of play and that Tenkrat, Kessel, Chistov line has been producing.
-Bergeron also played a solid game.
-Last but not least, Tim Thomas. Played clearly his best game of the season. Countless saves and kept the team in a posistion to win. Great saves and no softies allowed. The goal allowed was not his fault at all and if anything should have never occured, penalty should have been called on Tucker for interference.

I am very excited about this win, a pure team effort. All cylinders running.

3 Stars:
1. Tim Thomas
2. Petr Tenkrat
3. Brad Boyes
HONORABLE MENTIONS: Patrice Bergeron, Stanislav Chistov, Zdeno Chara, Mats Sundin

Scoring:
Boston
Petr Tenkrat (2) from Chara (9) and Chistov (2)
Marc Savard (6) from Bergeron (13) and Chara (10)
Brad Boyes (4) from Bergeron (14) and Sturm (3)
Toronto
Mats Sundin (9) from Tucker (9) and McCabe (17)

I would give an honourable mention to Raycroft to. If it wasn't for him the Leafs would've got wasted that game. He played great, Thomas played even better and the team got some good defense going for them tonight. Good game for the Bruins. Not to bright for the Leafs.

I agree for Chistov and i wonder why Lewis stubbornly fall in love with some players who hurt the team. The line of Kessel-Chistov and Trenkrat was a real sparker. Still, they played under 10 min while the 3 bozos line ( Primeau-Donovan-Mowers) played almost 15 min. Also, York in and Dempsey/Jurcina out.. No Way ! Still, i'm very happy that the team rebouce after Friday's ugly performance.

I forgot: I gave a huge + to Mara for his tussle with Tucker. At least, he showed great team spirit by going after the annoying leafs forward.. Who's next?

Mara's best play of the year was sticking up for his team mates with Tucker - he is out of my bad books for the next 10 minutes.
Donovan is not as bad as you make him out yo be - not even Gretzky would have produced with Primeau and Mowers - please don't lump them all together.
Donovan is a decent player who is put in a no win situation b/c of his linemates.

I said Donovan played well. I agree that his linemates haven't been helpful to him. He shows glimpses of his talent, and talking to people in Calgary when we signed him, they said he will go on 20 game hot streaks then cool of for 20 and dissappear.

Matt, my Donovan comment was not directed at your post (I should have specified) - it was a reply to latrappe's comment above where he called them the "3 bozo line"
Mellow Yellow can go hot and cold - that is true but being kept on this line we will see very little hot. Give him a chance and he can produce. He has decent speed and hands but his real assest is his heart and work ethic.
