Maurice
Rumor out of Toronto is that the Leafs are firing head coach Paul Maurice. I feel bad for the guy, he got put in a bad situation with a bad team. If you remember he was the poor sap that was stuck in Hartford with the Whalers, he coached there for 8+ seasons. I think Maurice is a good coach, anyone in his situation would be set up to fail. Hopefully he actually gets put in a good spot. He is liked by his players but can be hard on his players.

i live in toronto so i get to watch this mess unfold first-hand.
leafs are a mess...interim gm fired the coach? now they have no coach or gm. why are they so interested in Nonis and Brian Burke? let them be...just hire Clarke; he's interested and he will smash the toronto media (who can be bastards).
glad i'm a bruins fan...gees.
by the way, paul maurice is not a good coach. good coaches would take a team like the leafs and AT LEAST put them into the playoffs...he's never done anything in the nhl (or ahl) other than stumble into the finals with carolina once.
That Carolina team was stacked. Not to say coaching is easy, but I think a monkey could have guided that team to the Cup.
