It Gets Worse

As if the Bruins recent fortunes couldn't get any worse, WEEI reported this morning that Marc Savard will be out of the lineup the next two games with what is being reported as "a lower back injury."

I have nothing else to say besides that this team has everything stacked against them in the attempt to make the playoffs. The B's might want to dust off the irons in their basements and set a tee time, this team might be golfing early this year.

Bruins dig deep to beat Leafs 3-1. No Savard? It was time for the baby B's to take center stage. Phil Kessel and David Krecji traded goals and assists in the second period as the Bruins came back from a late first period goal. It was the first game in which the Bruins were playing without their number one center Marc Savard. Zdeno Chara and Dennis Wideman assisted on the goals, while PJ Axelsson assisted on Marco Sturm's empty net goal to clinch the win for the Bruins - their first in four games. "We knew that without Savvy, and they were without Sundain that we would need to dig deep to pull it off" said Ward after the game. "We sort of fed off of what Lucic and Thornton were trying to do out there". Thornton sent Alex Steen into Thursday's game to which Darcy Tucker came out to challenge Thornton but was mesmerized and introduced to the young Lucic. The Bruins were energized after that fight and saw their two youngsters score two goals in under 5 minutes mid way through the third to give the Bruisn the lead. Tim Thomas not to be forgotten looked shaky on the first Leafs goal but then turned aside the next 22 shots including a miraculous shorthanded 2-on-1 late in the third. The Bruins kept themselves in the thick of the playoff hunt with the win, combined with the Flyers' loss moves them back into seventh place.

i do not understand why the bruins played so softly against montreal. all it takes to get kovalev and the other soft russians off their game is to play physically.

i really do not understand why the begin cross-check on savard went unpunished. i know it was late in the game, but when a 4th liner knocks out our leading scorer with a cheapshot, that has to be addressed.

The Bruins played without Savard against the Ducks. I was there, we lost 2-1.

NOT looking forward to seeing the B's without Savvy.

i agree, hopefully we can pull out a win but things arent looking to good. I hope krecji does show us he can play but the one who needs to step up is murray. If not dump him.

So did all the B's fans see Cam's reaction to Phil's goal? Not that it really had anything to do with it being Phil, but his passion is something that to me epitomizes Bruins hockey and fandom.

Maybe our team hasnt been defined by Cups, maybe our team had been the blue collar team of the NHL for decades. Maybe we had the best team in the history of hockey in the 70's. One thing hasnt changed, true fans. It may be convoluted with bitches who dont know hockey or the teams history. But real fans will be there.

So all you shitheads who posted in the last thread, you know who you are. The perpetual pessimists and the fairweather fans. All you who have decided to take up a fandom which is more a religion to those who really watch;

Why dont you go up to Cam, tell him your a B's fan and say all the same shit you have said here.

I fuckin dare you.
