Trade Updates

The following from spectorshockey.net

NO PRE-TRADE FREEZE DEALS FOR BRUINS.
BOSTON HERALD: Steve Conroy reports Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli doesn't expect to make any moves prior to the trade freeze starting tonight, but expects could get going quickly after the moratorium is lifted on December 28th as fewer teams could wait for the deadline to make trades.

Spector continues on to discuss how there are plenty of teams still in the thick of the race right now, which would make it difficult to make trades. However, the Bruins are the "sexy" candidate to make something happen given all the cap space they have. I personally want a scoring forward, but Chiarelli will most likely grab a D man.

when bergeron comes back we wont need a scoring forward, thats chirellis mindset, remember we have phill kessel as our third line center, what happens when bergy comes back? the team will be stacked offensively, think about this, when bergy comes back here are the lines

axellson savvy muzz
sturm bergy kobasew
schaefer kessel lucic
thorton metropolit while reich sobotka norkeleinen and bochenski fight for the last spot.

we should be scoring more than we are. that simple, even without bergy.if we do trade for say hossa then who do we trade? if we trade bochenski we all know whats gonna happen, just like boyesy hes going to become the goalscorer weve always needed. while hossa is one and done in boston because its his free agent year.

so i say trade for a above average defenseman. not schnieder, hes to old, late 20s, our team defense is playing great, dont mix that up with our defenseman are great. our number two defenseman and our number six are pretty close skill wise right now, if the bs are going to try and win games 2 to 1 or 1 nothing in the playoffs they need a more concrete defense, especially on the penalty kill.

I agree...I would tend to believe that Bergy is coming back sooner then later if P.C. is holding off moving for a forward. We will have a surplus of 3rd - 4th liners to deal to get 2 solid D-men. They don't need to be offensive, just solid stay at home guys. Then...this team will be one to watch !!
