B. Stuart to L.A. (noteworthy... but not scaleworthy)

Reading some rumours of a possible deal to The Kings, they need help on defense. Rumors like this pop up I think due to the recent past. Things were not good, PC made some calls, now he has pulled in the welcome mat, but still listens to the odd thing. Don't really put much stock in it as it is Craig Conroy to come the other way. Not likely as B's NEED depth on D, not a struggling forward who might rebound else where... look for him to wind up in Montreal or St. Louis when the fire sale starts in the coming weeks. Brad will resign in Boston.
Here's some interesting news out of T.O. The buds might be unloading both Mats and the Tuck. Talk of ... San Jose for Sundin and Calgary for Darcy. Bernier (SJS) and Regehr (CAL) go to the Leafs. Something to watch for as the heat is on in Ontario as both teams are struggling.... good for the Bruins though.

Might be a wishful thinking by L.A but nothing else. The B's are looking to sign Brad Stuart long term and the only way Stuart will be dealt is if the team cannot re-sign him. As you pointed out; it would make no sense to trade a #2 defenseman to acquire a struggling center.

Personally, I believe once Chiarelli{sp} knows for sure there will be an increase in salary cap as anticipated, his first assignment will be resigning Stuart..Stuart and also Sturm seems to be happy in Beantown, so my guess is Stuart gets resigned and they'll attempt to convince Sturm to stay also..
I saying that, if there's any chance he'll lose either to the UFA market, he'll be forced to trade them before the march deadline in order to get something in return..

I agree with both of you guys. Stuart should reup with the B's. I have seen reportsd that the cap could go up as much as 2 million next season... should mean we have the space. Now if only we can get the butts in the seats...

Sturn could stay as well... he seems most confident and reliable when with Boyes and Bergeron. Of course a broomstick would pot 20 goals with those two's potential!
