Zhitnik in Beantown? (br3)

According to many sources; The B's are to talking to the NYI regarding the defenseman Alexei Zhitnik. The B's would give Brad Stuart or Paul Mara in return.

Latrappe's take: There's something in the air here ( not necessarily with NYI ), since the B's have made roster moves ( waiving Brookbank and Hoogan; recall Tenkrat ). If the Islanders are really interested by Mara, the B's have to be active in this case. Zhitnik is nothing special but he definitely can help the team more then Mara does, right now. The best deal for the B's would be a swap Zhitnik for Mara. Stuart can be dealt, later, at the trade deadline as a rental.

I agree, since Mara has no defensive ability. He is not worth any offensive he may provide, especially with all his mistakes.

zhitnik has a nasty side to him that mara has not shown, i think zhitnik is more difficult to play against....that said he is older than mara and stuart and locked up for a couple more years which could be looked at as a positive or a negative dependant on play...personally since mara is a local kid ideally i would like to see him get is game together.... your probably going to lose stuart to rfa....but if you do this deal....i say send mara.

34 year old Zhitnik for a much younger Mara. I sometimes think people have horse shit for brains.

Good lord people, think what you are saying. Mara hasnt been nearly as bad as people make him out to be. Yea, was he awful last game, absolutely, but so was everyone.

Trading for a guy on the wrong side of 30 is flat out stupid.
