Nabakov News

The San Jose Sharks had agreed to trade Evgeni Nabakov to Phoenix for Nick Boynton and their top goalie prospect. He then used his no-trade clause to block the deal to Phoenix.

WEEI's Dale Arnold says that the equivilant on the Bruins would be Hannu Toivonen plus a defenseman (Paul Mara) for him.

Do Arnold have a source? If SJ agreeded to a deal like that; they would certainly says Yes to a deal involving Toivonnen. That said, Murrau would have to go in order to absorb Nabokov salary. Don't see that happening..

Walshie; do you think thay Anaheim should do the same thing which mean that they will keep Giguere and trade the other keeper? Should the B's go after this guy then? Anaheim seems a better trade partner then SJ?

Neb, the only thing who was confirmed in that rumour was that Nabokov exercise is non-trade clause. Reliable sources said that SJ asked for Jovanovski. SJ do not need a top goalie prospect since they have one ( scheaffer, i think ) in the minor...
