Nittymaki to Boston (br2)

NHLine is reporting that the Andreo Nittymaki is going to be traded and that the Boston Bruins are the team involved. It is believed that an unknown team has done a physical of Nittymaki. The Bruins would be believed to ship either Paul Mara or Brad Stuart. They then go on to say that Mara will not be part of the deal. More to come...

Where do people get these crazy rumors? It would be insane for the Bruins to give up a good player for a goaltender whose save % is worse than Thomas'.

Agreed Greg. This goaltender is no better the Thomas.

Two things: the Flyers are horrible so far this season and any of their goalies would reflect that (sound familiar). Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't he one of the Finns Olympic goalies? I don't like the idea of giving up one of our better defensman to obtain this guy, but he WAS their #1 last year.

Second, he's playing, I believe, with a hip injury which he is receiving shots for instead of having surgery, which he will supposedly put off 'til season's end, if he makes it that far.

Sounds a bit of a stretch, but I would say that he is considered, stats notwithstanding, closer to a #1 than anything the B's have right now. Stuart is talking about testing the market at year's end, so I wouldn't be surprised if is being dangled.

True, but Stuart is going to be a free agent and probably walk away for nothing after this season. So why not get something in return for him now?

NIty and Eshe are no better than Thomas and toivonen. We become a worse team by losing one of our top 3 defencemen!

Once again, you won't get that much for an UFA..

I hope not. Look at the teams that have been successful lately. They hold onto their players.

This is supposed to be the new Bruins organization. Their real test will be whether or not they treat people well and create an atmosphere of loyalty--such that players want to stay.

well gerg or greg, we still need to see if he is worth the money. He still isn't playing as well as last year. I wouldn't give him a raise and I am sure he is looking for one.
