Hossa to Motown

The rich get richer.  You have to respect Hossa for wanting to win a cup, and he signed for 1 year.  Who would have thought?

Good thing is, aside that fact Detroit should win the cup, again, is that I can dream of Hossa next offseason unless he signs with Detroit long term.  We have Axelsson, Alberts, Fernandez, Murray and Thomas coming off the books, and likely a cap raise.  So again our team is basically filled out.  Hossa anyone?

I too am happy about this odd 1 year signing. With Manny and Muzz alone off the books next year we can realistically go after an impact player and maybe he will be available again.

Haha I was thinking the same thing. Is it depressing that it is July 2nd, and we as Bruins fans are thinking about next offseason?

As a rule Stanley Cup Champions or any kind of Champions are not put together in one year with a cap, except maybe in Basketball (a la Celtics) where so few star players are really needed. So it is good to be thinking down the road, which is another reason why the Michael Ryder signing was a good move. Those Hossa or Bust fans (or as one said those GM wanabes) haven't a clue on what and how a GM puts a winning team together. That's why PC is the GM and they are sending in dumb comments.
