B's-Thrashers deal in the works?

Haha...I post my Hossa thing last week, and now this Ek rumor floats. Coincidence?

A "high power forward" coming to Boston or going to Atlanta.

Holik
Kovalchuk
Hossa
Murray

I am guessing from the way it was posted, the Bruins are getting the high powered forward. Kolvachuk no way in hell, so that leaves Hossa and Holik.

Both in contract years. Holik would be a longshot since he isn't worth his contract.

Hossa is intriguing. I would not deal for Hossa without an extension. My offer? I wouldn't deal Bergy. I'd give away Sturm before him. I would do Kobasew, 1st round pick, Krejci, Ward and Alexandrov. Try not to sell the team for Hossa. Savard and Chara have NTC's I believe. (Dbl check Savard). Imagine...

Hossa-Savard-Murray
Sturm-Bergeron-Schaefer
Axlesson-Kessel-Bochenski
Thornton-Mowers-Reich

Chara-Alberts
Stuart-Ference
Wideman-Lashoff

Matt, Matt, Matt

1- This rumour is from Eklund. Legit interest or wishful thinking?

2- Hossa will ask for the same kind of money as Drury with a multi-years contract. Where the B's will fit him under the cap?

3- You have to trade a huge asset in order to get Hossa. Murray cannot be that guy unless you add top prospect like Stuart or Lashoff + picks. Bergy seems to be the target and i'm not willing to let go a complete player like Bergy, even for Hossa.

4- Do the arrival of Hossa make the B's an instant Stanley Cup contender? The answer is NO since Hossa brought 0 cup in Ottawa and they had way better teams then what we have, now, in Boston.

5- All in all, i don't see this happening...

Matt, you must be rolling in your own sh!t thinkin that Ek stole this one from you! I doubt that Ek is basing this solely on your blog which he may or may not have ever read, but you never know if maybe one of Ek's "sources" read it and decided to run with it just to throw Ek a bone and keep the B's on the boards.

If you had anything to do with it, congratulations. Either way I think a deal is far from feasible and very unlikely. Unless the B's asked for Holik, we could really use an overpaid, over-the-hill, overrated guy.

I'm betting Jeremy Jocobs will trade Murray for 3th liner players then turn around and either trade the 4th line players for nothing or he won't renew there contracts. we all knoew Bettman only cares about money

why not trade the best player in the world pj axelsson for hossa. axelsson is so valuable. hes by far the best player in the nhl. hell atlanta should throw in kovalchuk to make the deal even.

he prob will, that seems to be his MO. all he cares about is putting togeter the cheapest team, saving as much $$$ possible, Jacobs even said in a interview once he wouldn't care if Boston ever win's another cup as long as he fills the seats and make a good profit in the concession stands.. JACOBS MUST GO!!!!

The Thrashers will NOT deal Hossa and they will definitely NOT deal Kovalchuk. Pathetic for even mentioning it. You must be retarted. The two best players on the team and arguably in the league and you think one of them even "might" be traded to Boston? haha in your dreams. I think you've been playing NHL 07 a little to much.

And eklund had reported that Hossa could be traded a LONG TIME AGO. I bet he has never even read this blog but then again you never know. I don't trust eklund but still.

Well it seems the person before me is contradicting himself. First he says that the Thrashers will not trade Hossa then says that could be traded. But whatever. To me the Bruins are getting the forward. and it is one of these three guys whether anybody agrees is another story. The three are Kovalchuk, Hossa, or Holik. Obviously as a fan of both Hockey and the Bruins i would like to see Kova;chuk which is not out of the question its just going to take more to get him. If Chi could pull it off he has to be one of the runners for Exec of the Year. AND I AGREE JACOBS GOT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

for all the times Jacobs has screw over the bruins, I would love to see someone Shoot him in the back of the head 8 times with a 12 gage shot gun. Jacobs must be punished.

Smoke and mirrors, smoke and mirrors. I don't believe this rumor for a second. We don't have the firepower to get Hossa or Kovalchuk unless we deal Chara since they need D. We don't want Holik, they don't have any defensemen to give us if we were to give them Murray. This makes no sense, but then again, that might be why it happens.

no deal, not gonna happen, you think anyone wants to play in boston? this team is plagued and may take several years to get back it reputation.hossa is not worth it,maybe for murray, thats about it...i agree jj in the head...lol

Just a small suggestion from those that host this blog... Would it be possible to post the links where you get any of these rumors from? It would definitely help to breakdown who/what these rumors are saying.

Keep up the good work though, even though I doubt that Hossa would come to town, it still certainly provides for plenty of debate.

So.. Bergeron and Chara for Kovalchuk? Then sign Markov. Works for me. Bueler? (lowers head and waits for darts to be thrown)..

That deal might work... if it was Andrei Markov. Danny Markov can't replace Chara, I don't care how poorly he played last season. Not terribly familiar with Danny, but why is it that since he left Toronto in 2001 he hasn't stayed with a single team for more than 2 years (most were 1 year).

Heatley for Hossa That did happen So Why not Sturm and Murray for Hossa By the way have the Sens won the cup without Hossa NO so how can you say he sucks in the playoffs you have lost your mine

I didn't mean he read my blog...Hossa is an intriguing possibility, but it is unlikely to happen, but in the grand scheme of things, the Bruins have to be considered a viable option for the Thrashers to deal Hossa to.

From Atlanta's point of view, they need help - and it's down the centre. Bergy with Hossa dn Koval on each side is very pretty if you're an Atlanta fan. But then who comes here? If you say Holik...stop taking the red pills. You say a bunch of draft picks? Hey, CHIAPET is not THAT stupid. Then again - after the Thornton trade, nothing surprises me any more. If were to send Murray to Atlanta, for Hossa/Koval (and throw in some picks) we have a maybe. But that maybe will be based on two things - 1 Atlanta knows they can't resign H or K. 2 - H or K wants to stay in Boston with Savvy. Again, too many ifffs. Now CHIA has said they have ample centremen (even though he goes get a blind one) - so does that mean he can give one away? And to me, SAVVY is older, so why not? If you lok back at Ek, he's had Bos with all other teams in the league so he can come out and say a-ha told ya. We had Murray going to SJ, Bergie going to Mtl, Thomas to Det. The only time he's been right about anything is two minutes after it's on TSN and he puts an e5 next to it. I still say CHIA stands pat until the season gets going. And if Kessel does show promise - then I wouldn;t be surprised if SAVVY is moved. Chara is not going anywhere unless he really sucks next year.

Heatley for Hossa happened because everyone knew that Heatley need to leave Atlanta. I think everyone knew that Heatley was the most talented youngster in the league, but he couldn't perform in Atlanta with all of the bad vibes from his car accident. That move was more about the benefit of the NHL to let Heatley loose. Hossa was just the only thing Ottawa had that was comparable.

I agree with everything in the last two post. both of you guys were right. And hossa is not a a playoff leader according to who? and again like mentioned before the sens haven't won anything without him either. so that was a miss leading argument. I dont think we need to give up Muzz or Savy to get Kovalchuk or Hossa. Sturm with that 4yr 3.5 mil contract is an attractive piece. so maybe a Sturm, Stuart, suderberg and picks for Kovalchuk deal would work. then you could send Muzz to SJ with Keijc for Marc-Edouard Vlasic. Young D-man.
