Why the hate for Muzz?

I don't get why many B's fans are so against Glen Murray.

I know his 4.15 cap hit sucks, but it really isn't that bad. Hmm...Muzzy can score 40 goals and have 20-40 assists if he stays healthy. Scott Gomez makes 10 million for 60 points! Scott Hartnall gets 4.2 million for NEVER SCORING 25+!

I can agree before the UFA signing period his contract sucked, but now...after Guerin gets 4.5 million and Zubrus gets 20 million for 6 seasons, his deal is fine.

B's fans, we need to shut up about Murray. His contract is fine. And if we lose Muzzy, whose going to score for this team?

Finally!!! Someone who agrees with me. The grass is NOT greener on the other side. Glen doesnt have a history of injuries. So why label him as someone who will not be 100%. I dont know how many games Bruins fans watched, but Glen was doing it in all 3 zones last season. Trying I mean. ALOT more than most Bruins did. And everyone wants him out.....

I think he gets a lot of flak because he doesn't look graceful in his movements and he doesn't have the flair of some of the other scorers in the league. How much does flair matter, though? We need to take a look at his production and the way he can motivate younger players on the team. If he can continue to put up the numbers he has been (no reason to believe he can't), he really just needs to be on a stable line and people will perceive him as a more stable scorer. We need to start winning games so he can look like he is having a little fun out there, and the perception of him will improve.

Murray has to do two things:
1. Stay Healthy
2. Stop taking stupid lazy hooking penalties at the worst possible time

He is a proven goal scorer but his skating is suspect. Certainly don't give him away unless you get equal value back (production) but why would someone do that????

Keep him and pick up a Shanahan or Guerin (if they are willing to come for 1-2mil/yr). The Bs can afford that.

Take Guerin off the list. He signed with the Isles for 2yrs at 4.5mil/yr. Another one bites the dust.

First of all, Murray can't stay healthy and therefore will not be putting in 40+ goals.

Second of all, the only time he put in 40+ goals for the Bruins was when he had an all-world caliber center feeding him the puck every play. Where did that go? Oh yeah, that was the worst trade IN BOSTON SPORTS HISTORY.

There is NO WAY Murray will put in 40+ goals this year for the Bruins. Absolutely impossible, you're all living a pipe dream if you think he can get back to the point he was with Jumbo Joe.

Murray needs to go to another team, period. I'm not hating on him because I do still think he's a good player. However, he's not a pure goal scorer. Murray does not create his own plays.

Packaging Murray along with Toivonen or Thomas will net the Bruins a quality scoring forward in return. Hopefully, that player could be someone like Patrick Marleau.

Last but not least, pay Brendan Shanahan to play for this team! Netting Shanahan and Marleau would vastly improve this scoring depleated offense. A two year contract for Shanahan would not be rediculous and would make for a damn good lineup.

thats the only thing murray can do, score. he sits out in the slot waiting for a pass. he can't make his own plays by beating guys one on one. thats why other guys are making more than him that have around the same amount of points.

I am totally fine with Murray sitting in the slot. Colarado just paid 7.5 Mil for the best crease-man in the game(Smyth). While I agree that very few people can ever be as talented in close quarters as Ryan Smyth, it is not unreasonable to pay your grit guy that hangs out in the crease 4 mil/year. This is where Murray needs to excel, this is the place on the ice where he belongs at this point in his career and I am willing to stick it out on his 4 mil contract to keep him there.
