Needs for the Offseason

Just a quick glance at potential needs for the Bruins for the next offseason.

Needs:

1) A solid goaltender. Thomas seems like he can handle it, but a nice backup is definately missing.
2) A top winger. The offense isn't really there. Too many shutouts, not enough pure speed up front. Paul Kariya, Ladislav Nagy or Brendan Shanahan could fit the bill.
3) A 7th defenseman, veteren presence.

The defense seems set with the likes of Alberts, Chara, Wideman, Ference, Ward, and either Lashoff or Stuart.

The offense seems set on the lines with something like this.

______-Savard-Murray
Sturm-Bergeron-Bochenski
Chistov-Kessel-Kobasew
Donovan-Mowers-Tenkrat
Reich

I agree about the winger. I think he needs to be a powerful left winger who can win battles on the boards and has a good shot.

But you left PJ out of your lineup and that is a big mistake. It's like losing Premeau: he may not have scored that many goals but he was very important to the team (in his case he was the go-to guy in the faceoff circle--the B's suck now!).

PJ is the kind of player you absolutely need if you want to win a playoff series. Players like him are NOT a dime a dozen. Otherwise you end up with one of those teams that is always near the top of the pack but exits early every post season.

First of all, we need a new coach in my opinion. He does not get the job done, the team ist quite good, good enough for the PO's at last, we just need more solid defense !

Wow I totally forgot about PJ, I can't believe it. I guess since he has been out so long I kind of forgot about him.

Need to scrap the defence and start all over - maybe keep Ference - the rest can close the door on their way out!

I big gritty checking line/4th line center. The Bruins are far to small and passive at center.

Biggest need! Offense! Offense! Offense! A power forward! maybe 2... or maybe sign one and develop Lucic. Goaltending and defense is fine.

pj should have been traded a long time ago. hes injury prone and the bruins will be fine next season without him.

see todays herald.... it has the gm saying he will not be shopping for top tier help...

pj makes the first line! murray and savard are great offensivly but are suspect on d, putting axelsson there does not hurt the line it helps the team!

your an idiot. axelsson only helps the 4th line. he is not a 1st liner, hence the reason he has 11 goals playing with the 3rd leading assists man in the league. the reason why the bruins have no 5 on 5 offense is because lewis and his stupid line combos and overuse of players who cannot score
