Who else is going?

Marco Sturm looks like he is certainly getting traded. Sturm's agent hasn't heard back from Chiarelli, which leads to believe he is not interested in signing him to an extension. Look for Sturm to be moved for an energy type forward, who is under contract for next season. Also look for Chiarelli to deal one of the following: Glen Murray, P.J. Axelsson, and Paul Mara. One of these three will be traded by the seasons end. Mara has drawn interest from the Rangers and Murray has drawn interest from the Red Wings, who would like to add another goal scorer. Axelsson has drawn interest from Ottawa all season long. The next two weeks should be very interesting and Chiarelli has some important decisions ahead of him.

anyone think its wierd that Chiarelli isnt even trying to sign these players, after Stuart and Primeau were traded he said "We didnt think we would be able to resign them", not we werent able to resign and once again its Sturm's agent not hearing back from Chiarelli. how about you try Pete! pretend to care about the fan's interests. Seems the decision is already made...thanks for the past year Marco!

I would bet on Sturm, Mara and maybe Murray. Mara and Murray have pretty good contract and let's face it, at 3 and 4 per for what they give; it's too much. If PC can get a good offer for Mara and Murray, i think they are gone.

Sturm already said that he wanted to test the market so you can kiss him goodbye. There's no point to overpay him to receive the kind of performances he had this year...

yeah, youre right that too much money for the pucks murray puts in the net, because that last time the bruins had a 40 goal scorer(which is what he is on pace for)...oh wait that was murray. why dont we just trade the who team and start from scratch, we could save money that way, right?

anonymous, as a fan myself, I have not been impressed by Sturm. He will command a lot of money to keep(money we need to get a goalie and a defenseman with). He is not a 1st line winger and this season he has not even looked like a 2nd line winger(at times). I think Chiarelli has to deal Sturm because Sturm is going to try and get every penny he can.

I look at Sturm in a weird way IMO. 1) He is having a bad season, but the entire team is. If you want to resign him, say 2.5 a season or little less, and he regains his 30 goal form, you get a bargain deal.

So, because there is one goal scorer on the team, we should trade him? Wow! Good thing youre not GM! Murray cant carry the team. This team came into the seasaon with 2 lines, you cant win with 2 lines, Its not his fault the rest of team cant score, or the GM signs Mowers and Donovan, brings in Tenkrat, and Chistov. We had Stasny, Primeau Brookbank, Hoggan, and then when a player goes down rather then called up the leading scorer in Providence, you call up Nate Thompson, and expected them to produce. Dont make Murray the scapgoat, take a look at the GM and the Coach.

I agree with you about one thing anonymous. We should not trade Murray. Not only is he the best pure goal scorer on the team, we do need some leadership. If anything, sign him to an extension now.
But as for the GM, you only had one player right... Chistov. PC was not in office when Mowers or Donovan were signed, nor was he here when we got Tenkrat from Toronto. But in hind sight, many fans were excited about Donovan, me included. He looked like a much cheaper version of Lapointe. But all of our excitement was shattered when Lewis decided to play PJ on the first line. Mowers was not suppose to be anything more then a 4th liner anyway. I personally like Tenkrat's play. He gives energy every time he gets on the ice. And as for Chistov, if Lewis would give him some decent linemates, he may live up to expectations.
As for who they call up from Providence, there is a lot more into it then we realize. Would the player being called up have to clear waivers? And if so, do we want to chance losing the leading scorer?
I have said for the longest time that the biggest problem for this team is the coach. PC is doing an excellent job. I can't argue any deal he has made yet. I think too many of us were hoping for a team that could compete for the CUP this year. Well.... those hopes were squashed! Now, lets hope for a decent finish and a good draft. As well as some good signings in FA next year. Biggest holes... Goaltending first, and then scoring!
And you are right... we aren't going to win with 2 lines.... but if Lewis would have lined them up a little better, we may have had 3 scoring lines and a good checking line.
As usual... sorry for the rant!
