Carolina 12/2

The Bruins have played very well of late and I've been very impressed with Tim Thomas. He's loooked like the Tim Thomas of last year bailing the team out.

What to look for-
1. Bruins must do a better job in the face-off circle. Carolina is one of the best faceoff teams in the league, with the best faceoff man in the game in Brind'Amour.
2. Stay out of the BOX.... Carolina is very good on the PP
3. Get LOTS of shoots on Cam Ward and crash the net for rebounds. Ward is one of the best young goalies.
4. Capitalize on the chances you get on Ward.
5. The Bruins still have to do a better job on their D Zone coverages. Goals have been scored on miss coverages and 3-5 shot rebounds. The D needs to help out the goaltending more.

Perdiction
Bruins 2
Hurricanes 1

The Bruins have been playing great as of late. But for the most part they're beating teams that any playoff team should be beating. Not taking anything away from Pit, Wash, Tor and TBay, but these are not elite teams. If the Bruins truly want to prove to the rest of the league that they are for real, then they have to start beating the best. That means stealing games from Atlanta, Buffalo and Carolina. Tonights game is huge. Another embarassing loss like last time however, could throw the B's into a downward spiral. A quick side note. I was at an AHL game last night. Hamilton (Montreal's farm team) vs. Toronto Marlies (Toronto's). It was a good game, but I wasn't overly impressed with the talent level for either team. The kids playing in Providence would have skated circles around either of them. Just a little bit more proof that the Bruin's future looks bright.

Carolinia is 22nd on the PP. I wouldn't call that very good but the Bruins still need to stay out of the box unless it's a roughing or fighting and less hooking and tripping.
