*As you can see, the '03 was destined for a good playoff run and could definately been in cup contention, but choked and blew a 3-1 series lead over the Habs. The '05 team looked good on paper, and offensive powerhouse, but the D was mostly rookies, and had little depth. The D looked horrid and that spelled Scatchard to be dealt for David Tanabe. It didn't help that McEachern was a bust, and Alexei Zhamnov was hurt all season. Also, Brian Leetch did play up to expectations. MOC tried to save the season, with the Joe deal, but that didn't work. Late season guys like Josh Langfield and Mariusz Czerkawski didn't pan out either. Maybe they should have resigned Gonchar, Knuble and Rolston when they could have. This season looks a lot better. The defense is revamped and one of the best in the league. The offensive looks like it could have a lot of potential. The goaltending looks a little shakey, but Toivonen is the goalie of the future, and hopefull he will be just that. Can't wait for the puck to drop! '06 here we come...

Not enough grit and toughness on the '06 4th line. I'd look for a more role player type of player than just slotting a rookie in based on who could be the most talented.

Bomberdz, Brookbank could be on that line, and Chiarelli may invite Tom Fitzgerald back, who was AWESOME on the PK last year, so maybe they could fill the roles of Stastny and Walter.

With the cap, i'm not so sure that it would be a good spending to bring back Fitz...

I like Stastny and think he could be a good 4th liner this year. I just think to many people are thinking the 4th line should be a rookie scoring line and I don't agree.

Thats quite a shift over three years. Being a Calgary fan first, I'm envious of your wealth of centres. With the changes Boston has made, and having 3 enticing goaltending prospects (Hannu, Thomas, and T. Rask who is a Fin who's easily talented enough to take #1), I think Boston is going to surprise a few people this season. That being said, I don't think I could ever forgive you guys for sending Thornton to the Western Conference... please take him back as he is destroying things on this side of the fence.
