Torres and Stoll targets

According to KPD of the Globe, the Oilers have discussed dealing underachieving winger Raffi Torres to the Bruins. He makes 2.2 million. He has been a dissappointment the last two seasons, but was a 27 goal scorer two seasons ago. Jarret Stoll has been decent, but like the last two seasons, has been dissapointing.

I wouldn't mind either guy as more offense does not hurt, but I would rather see a better player acquired like a Hossa, which may be wishful thinking.

Let's please refrain from talking about Hossa until July 1. Stoll would be a good pick-up if Bergeron is going to miss the rest of the year. I think he will cost to much in the way of picks and prospects, and with the Bruins winning now anyway, unless the perfect deal comes along, I'd see what these guys can do to finish the season.

Stoll is a good all around player. He would help the Penalty Kill, can work the point on the PowerPlay and has a bullet shot.

I think Stoll is pretty young too, its not a bad idea to pick up young tallent, what would a package look like to get Stoll or Torres? I wouldnt mind seeing Murray sent over for a deal to bring two relatively young players over.

there is no need for two underachieving players. we have enough of them already. especially with the salaries that both will bring to this cap it wouldnt be a wise move because we wouldnt be gettin rid of any big salaries. we already have a pj axelsson and schaeffer, torres hits more but plays a similar style. maybe take just stoll but the oilers will prob insist on adding in torres as well. i am all for goin after hossa, the bruins have the prospects why not make the move?? we see how well it worked for the celtics.

They say good teams find a way to win, The "TEAM" is doing just that!! let's not make any trades until we have to. Yes we could use more goals per game! But this team is the lunch box team we are use too. Let her ride!!!!!!

Stoll is a great face-off guy, but the bruins have a lot of talent and depth at center with Savard, Bergeron, Kessel, and Krejci. Zach Hamill and Carl Soderberg are also centers. Jarret Stoll would be a good addition now, but is there room for him later on? The bruins are playing great right now anyways.

I remember the Wideman/Boyes trade and how Chia said we were deep at Centre. But - Savard is just awesome, no doubt, no question. Kessel, altough putting up better numbers - needs to put up even better numbers. A top player in this league is a 100 point player, a good player is within the 70-80 point range. Kessel's running for around 50 points. Krejci, Hamill and Soderberg have yet to prove anything really (and in Soddy's case, a want to play in the NHL). Lastly, Bergeron who was such an integral part of this team. I cannot remember any player coming back from a grade 3 concussion and being the same or better player. That's just a fact. I love Bergie, but the fact is he won't be back this season and we have no idea what condition he'll be in when he does return. Can he still do long shifts? Will he have his coordination back? Will he get vertigo spells every time he heads into a corner? At this time - today, now - it is as if we lost Bergie to free agency. So the notion of depth at Centre has disappeared - even though Metro has filled in quite well. Stoll/Torres are okay players, perhaps a change of scenery would spark their performance. But I think the B's organization needs a highlight style flashy player (Hossa?). There will be no significant trades utnil the deadline as we do not know who's in, who's out, who's rebuilding - who's selling and who's buying. But the B's will be upgrading as we (YES WE) head into the playoffs!

i don't think we should waste our prospects on a guy like Hossa, he is a great player but is only a rental. he is a FA after the year concludes. send 4-5 prospects to washington and get ovechkin..... Prospects that arent. Kessel, Bergeron, Rask, or hamill but to a lesser extent.... think of a future line of kessel, Bergy, and Ovechkin.... Tampa Bay plus a another winger..... so Chia has some pieces to move Kreijc, Lashoff, Stuart, Picks and More picks. at least if Ovechkin decides to leave we get like 3-5 first rounders.... Usually under the name bostonman but am not logged in....

My whole thing is that hossa needs to sign with boston if we get him at the deadline if not then yea i agree its a waste of prospects.

On Hossa, don't discount the Ference-factor! I say bring in Brenden Morrow and Jason Labarberra for a big old Winter Hawk fest!
