Bruinsrumors

Fresh off the rumor mill.

-Bruins have inquired about Calgary's Roman Hamrlik.

-Kings are interested in Glen Murray, who has been put on the block by the Bruins.

-The Bruins have inquired about Nabakov and Toskala, but GM Doug Wilson has sent them away and won't deal them.

-Bruins have also inquired about Bryzgalov and Giguere.

If they can get ride of Murray's contract; they have to do it. The Ante for Nabokov or Giguere will up since lots of team need an upgrade on that position. I still think the B's had enough promising players to conclude a deal like that.

It seems to me that any trade for a goaltender would involve Thomas going the other way. He's playing well and he's inexpensive. And a team giving up a backup would likely want one in return. Toivonen is untradable at this point but worth holding on to because he has pptential. I'd send him to Providence.

I wouldn't do it though because the Bruins need all the forwards they can get. Despite not putting up big numbers, Glen Murray is playing very well and he gets better every game. What he's doing is important. We finally have a line that is working and he's on it. Why on earth would we want to ruin that?

Because you have to look at a longuer window here. Murray he's playing great hockey; there's no doubt about it. But the fact is that he will get older and slower. The best time to trade a player like Murray is when he have success. If the B's cannot trade him now, they will be stuck with his contract. Right now, it look worthwiled but it will not next year and the year after that. The B's need cap space even if Sturm, Primeau and B.Stuart will probably not be back and be so, free so cap space.

Sure--if you don't have any plans on actually going to the playoffs and winning... I'd like to see that. Wouldn't you?

You can't just trade away good players in their prime just because they will oneday be past it!

They brought Savard in to be a set up man for Murray, and they're finally clicking. They should hold off for awhile before they swing any trades. They've looked good, the last few games. The T-Bay game shouldn't have been that close but Hannu "Swiss Cheese" Toivonen looked shakey again. P.S Latrappe, all players get older, not just Murray.

ok latrappe - wrong again... a player playing like murray is worth his contract...and how can you possibly say how he will play the next two years? he is proven veteran who scores, which if you watch the games, is what this team has to blame for most losses so far this season - lack of scoring.

Hamrlik? Two bad knees and too much money. The Bruins already have better Dmen then him. Last year tampa had the same problems the Bruins had questionable goaltending with a good overall team and the best they did was pick up Denis. The Bruins are against the cap and all other teams will try to take advantage of that in a trade trying to give $.50 on the dollar. Meaning we'll give you (insert other teams extra #1 goalie here) for Bergeron and a 1st rounder or we'll trade a goalie and take Murray for cap relief if you give us Boyes and Alberts. We need to stop thinking other teams will just give us what we need.

Huh? Another person who apparently didn't pay any attention to the B's last year weighing in... The reality is just the opposite. The B's were held together by duct tape and two goaltenders standing on their heads during their most productive part of last year.

They couldn't score. They couldn't even begin to play proper defense. And yet, with that horrible team around them *both* goaltenders were able to shine. I think that says a lot about both of them. Anybody can play well with a great team inf ron of them. You wait: Thomas (and maybe even Toivanen) will get hot at some point and put on a real show for us this year too.

Well Nash, Zhamnov's deal is off the books as of now, but he will be revaluated at the end of the season. As for trading Kessel, no. He is only 18 and has shown a brilliant mind in offensive skills. But I agree with your thought on Kessel's line. They need some better scoring. If you can acquire a "Mark Recchi" type veteran to play with him, that would be outstanding. I say Mark Recchi because of last year with Carolina. It is all about depth chart. As for goaltending, I would like to see JS Giguere, he looks like his old self this season and his contract isn't unpalatable.

Greg, What I meant to say was that Bruins problem THIS year was the same as Tampa's last year.

I watched 70 games on TV and went to 6 the only games I didn't see were the ones on OLN. So yeah I paid attention and do know what I'm talking about I'm just a lousy writer.
I've said all along to be patient and good things will happen Hannu is a future #1 goalie who hasn't played much since January and is playing with a pretty much new team in front of him so his success won't be over night.
