A Good Joke

I was looking at B's web site this morning and spilled my coffee off when I saw that line on Bish's blog, "Both guys looked sharp between the pipes in practice and I'm not sure how much it matters who plays what game."

I don't know where this guy was last friday or where he was Saturday. Who cares who looked sharp in pratice. Thomas was shaky Friday and Hannu deserves to start with his last performance. Thomas will have his turn but I just found out this comment funny since I doubt that coach chose their goaltending because of their performance in practice.

Tue, but I don't think he is aloud to put anything negative on the Boston Bruins site, it's probaably a site rule for who ever writes for the site, have you ever seen anything negative written on that site?

Dude I understand you don't like Thomas, and that's OK because I've noticed many others don't either. The thing is you seem to be overly against him. He had one bad start (not even his fault), after have an amazing pre-season. Nobody here (or on my blog) was down on Toivenen for having a bad pre-season.

It's like the second coming of Jesus Christ our lord and savior Hannu Toivenen!

I know he is our "future" but Bruins fans seem to lay too many hopes on him. He needs to be brought in slowly with Thomas playing a good portion of the games, if Hannu's going to be good in the coming years.

Just my Thomas loving thoughts on the subject. ;)

I agree treebob. I watched the entire Flordia game, and with the exception of the second goal, it wasn't Thomas' fault. The defence and PK units totally abandoned Thomas. I still feel Timmy is the Bruin's most dependable tender. Now having said that, I also agree that Hannu should get the next start. All I'm trying to say is, take it easy on Timmy, he was the best player on the Bruin's last year.

Treebob, i don't dislike Thomas. I agreed that he deserved his new contract last year. He was very good. But i'm a big fan to call a cat, a cat. Thomas was horrible friday. It doesn't mean that he will become dumb and have an horrible season. But, Thomas have no consistency and that's why i think he will never be a #1. That said, i really believe that Hannu deserve to start tomorrow because he was very good saturday.

Latrappe you are trying to have it both ways regard Thomas. You say you don't dislike him, yet you complained that he was started instead of Toivenen before the first game was even played. I personally thought your reasonaing for starting Toivenen were terrible. The best way to motivate an athlete is to challenge him, not to hand him starting positions on silver platters.

What the Bruins need are two strong goaltenders in a battle for the No. 1 job that will make both of them better in the process. So for both the sake of the team and for Toivenen's, let's hope Thomas puts together a good showing soon. If I were coach, I'd reward Toivenen with another game and then give Thomas another chance.

I forgot to mention, I agree he deserves the start against Atanta. Thomas should start the game after though.

latrappe once again you are wrong...the TEAM was awful on friday and i seem to remember your little pet hannu giving up a goal also....thomas had one weak goal....your boy let in a goal from an impossible angle on saturday that was much softer than anything thomas allowed.

On a silver plate? Hannu deserve to start because he keep his team alive ( breakway in first period ) and gave her a chance to win. In my book, that's what you ask from your #1 goaltender. A chance to win every night. Toivonnen deserve to start because he did his job. Thomas will start again and have the chance to rebouncre which, i think, he will do. But, for the team's future, Hannu is our goaltender....

latrappe: "On a silver plate?"

I was talking about your comments before the first game. You complained about Hannu not getting the start and said, "He will be our guy in the future so i think it would have send a good message to the team" That's the silver plate I was talking about.

I say make him earn the starting position. Forget about preconceived notions. May the best goalie win! And win a lot!

Sorry Greg didn't know you was refering to that line. I agreed to what you said. If he earned the spot, he desever it. Whatever it's Thomas or Hannu. Good input...
