Bounce Back Night

Tonight, the Bruins need a big win. After a dissapointing season opener, 8-3 loss vs. the Panthers, look for a strong game tonight vs. the Lightning.

Keys to winning:
-Shut down top line of Lecalvier, Richards, and St. Louis.
-Test Denis early.
-Stay out of the box.
-No turnovers in own end.

Toivonen gets the start tonight, announced by Dave Lewis.

Prediction:

Bruins-4
Lightning-2

Note: Petr Tenkrat has cleared waivers.

look for a 3-5, empty net goal loss tonight with the pk being the big dissappointment again. positives will be another strong game by pj axelsson with our first goal from the third line and phil kessels first nhl point. turn overs will again hurt as our players dont know where to find each other yet....

now...if my above prediction is wrong, here is why. bergeron and boyes step up and provide timely unstoppable offense that sparks the team to something like a 4-3 nail biting win. in this senario i see the team getting the first goal and marching to 3-1 lead- i think they do not have the confidence to play the new system from behind yet..... and will squeak out a "system win" if they can stay on top on the score sheet....

I hope they can trade Tenkrat, he deserves to play in the NHL. I really doubt anybody will want him though.

I wish I could say they will win tonight but I doubt it. I will say 5-3 Tampa.

OK I feel like i just sinned! 4-0 Boston! :)

It would help if they'd stop trying to find each other across 3/4 of the rink through traffic...

My biggest concsrn was their inability to finish. They looked just like last year. Penalties and turnovers van be addressed in time. But what if they still can't get the puck in the net?

My prediction for tonight: Bruins look much better in their own end, but lose in OT 3-2.

I agree with your comment on turnovers and bad passes, but offence last season wan't really their problem.

Wow, how much you wanna bet that every game his predictions will be in favor of the Bruins. Thats sad man. They lose 8-3 and you think theyre gunna come back and have a strong game, doubtful

My prediction:

Tampa: 3
Bruins: 2

Bruins 2005-2006:

Goals/Game: 24th
Goals Against/Game: 19th

PP%: 25th
PK%: 12th

How many games were lost by one goal? How many games did the Bruins lose in OT? How many games did they manage to come back from behind?

Defense was a problem last year, but it was in fact lack of scoring that lost them game, after game, after game...

i disagree greg- they gave up far to many easy goals against last year.....you take away the about 50 give me goals allowed and maybe they have 10 -15 more points.....

Opinions are one thing, but facts are another... The facts speak pretty clearly. Compared to the league the Bruins were better defensively both 5 on 5 and on the PK than they were offensivley, again 5 on 5 and on the PP.

my oppionion is that if you win every game you play 1-0 you will have the best winning percentage and the worst offense....but thats just my oppinion.
