go big or go home. go turco.
turco..fernadez..i don't care which one. get whoever is cheaper..just somebody to fill the void until rask is ready to roll
well said sir, well said. =)
that'd be a steal IMO Axy and a 2nd.
I agree with justin, i'd rather have Turco over Manny. But if neither works out... it looks like Rask is closer then we thought. He was just signed to a three year deal, and he will be in camp to compete for a spoit. Sounds to me like he is at best a year away.
So if that is the case, why slow down his progress by bringing in a goaltender who is under contract for two or more years? Especially at the large cap hit? Why not go after a free agent to tandem with Thomas that won't cost as much, and try for a bigger d-man UFA.... someone like Rafalski!
Out of all the goalies still available... Thibault, Weekes, Esche, Aebischer, Belfour, Boucher, and Burke..... Belfour has the best stats from last year. And I think we could get him for under 1 mil for one season. He would also be a great tutor to the youger guys.... Hannu and Rask.
They say we don't have too much wiggle room under the cap this year. Well... with Julien, we just might have a good chance to grab Rafalski. Then grab Belfour and Yanic Perrault to center the third line. All could be had combined for well under what we have for cap room. And it would strengthen the team greatly.
Sorry for the rant!
