Gerber on the Block

According to the Ottawa Sun, Senators goalie Martin Gerber is known to be on the trading block. Gerber signed a 3yr/11.7 million dollar deal or 3.7 a year this offseason. He has been struggling of late, and his contract makes him almost untradeable until his productivity increases.

No one wants Gerber right now. Gerber hasn't played good since before the playoffs last year. Remeber he played most of the regular season last year for Carolina before losing his starting spot to Cam Ward in the playoffs. Gerber's contact is too big and long for someone who really hasn't proven himself. Ottawa will look for another starting goalie or a legit prospect for him and a team to take on his contract, which isn't going to happen. I'm affraid this is just a rumor

Even when he will play better... Nobody will pay 3.7 per for a goaltender who is so inconstent...
